Ways To Save On Transportation
1. Get active and see things at a slower pace. Walking is free. You can experience more just by wandering around a city and getting lost, talking with locals, and people watching. Explore local markets, wander and take photos, or even hike to the top of a hill for an awesome view.
2. Rent a bike with a cheap price, more comfy than a bus, slightly faster pace than walking..
3. Use public transport where possible. You get great knowledge and insight by hanging with the locals, it costs you less, and is a more authentic travelling experience. We have done this extensively in Africa and Asia.
4. When you do travel by other means, try and share a car with another traveler. Also, sharing a Taxi, mini-van, and tours etc are all more cost-effective when there’s a group of travelers to split the costs.

Despite the attitude of many frequent fliers, everyone was a rookie at some point. Frankly, it's a great time to hop into the game. Free travel is life changing and traveling in classes you couldn't even dream of make the journey just as fun as the destination. Whether it's free flights, upgrades or both, it's a game you simply must play and there are some easy ways to get started on the right footing. Sign up for all frequent flier programs and become a member of just about every frequent flier program under the sun. By doing so, you are able to collect miles every time you fly, whichever airline you fly. By receiving marketing communications from the various programs, you are also in the loop for any fare sales or mileage bonuses which can really help get started or score me an upgrade. Many airlines have shopping, rental car and other partners which offer major miles for doing everyday things like shopping top stores online, taking surveys or tweeting. Traveling by car. No matter where you are going, plan out your route in advance with scheduled stops every few hours. Try to work in something fun for the kids to look forward to at each stop as this will help break up the journey. Use Yelp or Trip Advisor to find local restaurants along your route, and download an app to help you find the cheapest gas along your route. As for hitting the road, getting up and out early is key. You’ll avoid traffic in big cities and kids won't be as tired and fussy as they could be late in the day. Give your kids a fun assignment that involved them in the trip. For starters, ask them to help you plan and chart the course and check off what they've seen. Don’t forget games, videos, and snacks to keep them busy. Once you find the places with cheapest gas, be smart about when you fill up your gas tank: Gas prices rise around holidays and long weekends. So don't wait until July 3 to fill the tank for your Fourth of July road trip. Fueling up can also be more expensive on weekends, so head to the gas station in the middle of the week.

1. Use body language
When there’s a language barrier, shouting in your own language is not going to get you far. Instead, use your body. It’s the most international language in the entire world. Dating someone who doesn't speak your language is the most beautiful body language.

2.Bring a money belt AND a wallet
There’s a dual purpose to this: if you get mugged you can calmly hand over the wallet and carry on your holiday with minimum hassle. If you meet new friends, use the wallet, as it can be a bit embarasing to go into a money belt to pay for your drinks.

3. Never exchange money in your hotel
Instead, shop around for best rate. Find a credit/debit card that doesn’t charge for purchases abroad. Traveler’s cheques are a thing of the past .

Do your research and plan alternative trips if traffic makes your way home too overwhelming. Is there a scenic drive that might be longer but have less traffic? Break up a long drive by finding a few places to stop that will get the kids more excited than a truck rest stop. When flying, make sure you check the airline’s restrictions ahead of time on carry-on luggage and fees for checked bags.

2. Stay connected.with the latest travel apps before you leave home. Flight Status gives you real-time updates on delays, baggage numbers and more, and GateGuru gives you approximate times you’ll spend in security. Heading out on the road? Find the cheapest gas and cleanest bathrooms on the road with GasBuddy and SitOrSquat.

3. Pack light or avoid checking bags altogether if you can. You won’t have to wait for your luggage on the conveyor belt, and you won’t have to worry about your mom’s Christmas present getting lost in Logan Airport. If you do check luggage, make sure you have all your medications and important documents and a change of clothes in your carry-on in case your luggage gets lost or stolen.

Vacation Tours USA scam warning. Top four scams this year.
1. Timeshares - You won a gift but must attend a timeshare presentation. Lots of people go to these events for the prizes. But timeshares are a hard sell for anyone to swallow. You take a $500,000 property and charge 52 people for their one week per year of vacation. How about $20,000 each and that adds up to $1,040,000. Wow, a 540,000 profit plus some extra fees. We all need to turn our homes into timeshares. That's why they are so hard to sell as well. You must hire a high pressure sales company to sell them. Expect to lose 50% of the price when you go to sell it.

2. Scooters - Your scooter or motorcycle breaks down or gets damaged. You have to go to get a repair estimate. The mechanic or body shop raises the price for you so the owner makes some money. This is very profitable business for the scooter rental. They normally are holding your deposit and passport as ransom. On a larger scale, the scooter gets stolen by the scooter owner and you have to pay for the whole motorcycle. Maybe they show you a smashed scooter that looks like yours. They say its the same scooter. This can happen with small rent a car companies as well.

3. Spill - Bird do do lands on you. A woman comes over with a towel to help clean you up. Meanwhile, you get pick pocketed as they clean your wallet or watch. This can also happen with mustard or any other gross stuff they find to throw on you.
