Youth world cup update..

From everyone at home, Charlie and Shane you have all excelled, done yourselves and the nation proud. This experience will stand you the best and give you experience to shine even brighter next time, for the parents and coaches, simply fantastic getting them there, supporting and encouraging. A few words from John:

Well that completes Team Wales's Journey at the inaugural 2024 IBF-QubicaAMF Youth World Cup in Perú.

I have to say Charlie bowled much better than previous days however did not make the top 8.

As Athletes, both have learnt a lot over the last week and will take away unforgettable memories and friendships.

As Officials and as Parents to watch your children represent not only their small country but to be the only representation from the United Kingdom on the world stage, it makes us extremely proud.

Now for the thank you's.....
Firstly, to the TBAW Committee for giving both Athletes the opportunity to represent Wales at this event, to Tim Johnson of TeJay's Pro Shop for the continued support both on and off the lanes, to the handful of Sponsors that made the dream happen (BowlTech, ProBowl, Thetford International, T Services, Kel-Jay Ltd, Conexio Ltd and Pakawaste Ltd), to the IBF, QubicaAMF, the Peruvian Bowling Federation and their local Sponsors for a Fantastic Tournament and lastly but certainly not least, to the many well wishers from all parts of the UK who have got behind Team Wales with messages of support, it has been very much appreciated!!!

Now to relax and watch the finals tomorrow, Good luck to all countries that got through from Team Wales.

So that’s Qualification over at the World Youth Cup 2024 in Perú.

Charlie will progress into the Round Robin and be back on the lanes flying the flag for Team Wales again tomorrow morning!

Sadly on this occasion Shane has not bowled his best and was well below his average. Despite having an upset stomach, he marched on and gave it a go. The competition was fierce in the male category as to be expected at this level.
We would like to wish the top 16 the very best of luck for the Round Robin.

We would like to thank all well wishers for your continued support and good luck messages.

Youth world cup.
Team Wales update.
Day 2.

So a not so good set from Shane yesterday however having spent most of night before with his head down a toilet, he still managed to maintain a 178 average which, hopefully if things go our way, we could sneak into the RR. He’s dosed up on Dyralite and had some rest, so hopefully he can string a few sets together today as that last 16 is still within touching distance!

Charlie has also found this challenging, and is very frustrated not to be able to string strikes together with her average well below normal

We have the final qualifiers today, fingers crossed things fall into place and both athletes make into the next round…………
