Welcome to Sunflower Mountain Farm! We are a little farm project in the mountains of Colorado, being built bit by bit after "breaking away" from the city. Our history so far:
The idea for the farm project began as a way to get away from the urban life we had known, to learn to live in a much more self-sufficient and sustainable way, and to see just how much we could do for ourselves and on our ow
n. So far, we have learned to raise baby chicks into entertaining, sweet hens (and to collect their fresh, organic eggs), to raise a small group of Angora fiber rabbits, to keep and milk a dairy goat, to chop our own fire wood and survive a Rocky Mountain winter...and having survived all of that...this year we are beginning our garden project!
