After changing the sheets on the spare bed today I began to think that maybe 10 cushions is a little too many in one room, even for me ! 48 cushions in total in our small house and 102 pictures!!!!!

Interior design advice at the start of your project will make sure that you will be happy with the finished result. Even if you are not re-decorating, the right style for your window will transform the room. I make curtains with a variety of headings: goblet, pinch pleat, deep pencil pleat, drop valance, contrast fabric and can add trimmings like beads, fringe etc. Roman blinds suit the style of F
rench windows that open into the room. They can be made with quite small amounts of fabric and look great accessorised with trimming or contrast fabric. To further enhance your new look I also create pelmets in a variety of styles as well as beautiful cushions to give your room the look you desire, whether it is modern and stylish or cosy and comfortable. I cover dept. 87 but will happily consider projects in surrounding areas. Ideally I would prefer to visit you/your room/s and take necessary measurements, but am happy to work from your measurements/photos if this suits you better. I look forward to working with you to help create your home furnishings.

Small remnants put together for family friends children's new play room, better than another Easter Egg 🙃 Heavy linen stripe, Harris Tweed, Applique Cotton and Silk Stripe, pockets for treasured items (Wil said for his games controller!) 😊

Little rummage through my remnants, cushions for great people who looked after us recently on a cattle & sheep farm in The Cotswolds. Pure wool Harris Tweed teamed with linen print and pure wool herringbone, pure wool paisley pattern with glass bead trimming!

To all my lovely, loyal followers, I've been very busy making cushions for a Christmas Fayre, what on earth possessed me 🙃! Apparently the venue is a sell out, 800 people so hoping to do well, if not they serve food, alcohol and I have my grandchildren to help 😊🤔🥂
Beautiful fabrics, embroidered silk & linen, velvet, wool, cashmere, harris tweed, leather, trimmings, exclusive designs, never to be repeated. I used to put pockets on cushions, for soft toys or books now they are for mobile phones!!!!!

In my happy place sewing a roman blind for the grandchildren's bunk room, Tom just has to paint the walls Little Greene Lime! There is a fine line when sewing ball trim in the seam, especially as you cannot see them and the chance of breaking the sewing machine needle is quite high, phew!

Simple cushion using Barnaby Gates Boxing Hares linen fabric and Harris Tweed, for a hard working gardener who also breeds Welsh Ponies to show standard, long days, so hopefully he will find comfort in this cushion 😊

South facing lounge so put up linen blend curtains, didn't like 3" gathered heading tape so changed to pinch pleat (haven't done that for a long time, luckily have the right haberdashery in stock, like riding a bike you don't forget how to do it !) Protecting carpet and furniture from sun damage 😊

I don't think I'll ever not get excited about fabric, especially when it's free. I was lucky to receive two huge discontinued fabric sample books (50+ pieces!). Rummaged amungst my remnants and found plain linen and fringe to team up with this beautiful Wexford Indian linen, I've had the dusky pink tassels for years, now our bedroom has pink I could use them 😊. Tom will say "oh no not another cushion on the bed"!!!!!

Busy couple of days renovating a solid chest of drawers from a second hand shop near York, cleaned, repaired (by Tom), painted in charcoal grey and waxed to match previously painted bedside tables. Can now organise the spare bedding as we have 5 different sized beds. Trip to Pickering for little items to finish off together with framed photographs of our city breaks etc, the pig linen cushion works perfectly as we are living in an old piggery 😊

Simple window dressing for the cottage utility room, another Barnaby Gates remnant. So just a lined rectangle held up with 2 spare tassel tie backs, warmed the area up tremendously along with some of my treasured pictures collected along life's highway. We are lucky to live near the market town of Malton which is filled with individual shops around the square full of beautiful things, found these metal and ceramic hooks perfect to hang my raffia hats and bag on in the spare bedroom 😊

You all know how much I love natural fabrics. Chatted to Liz at Scampston Hall Artisan Fayre this morning, could have purchased the whole stall, settled for a beautiful silk/wool scarf, hand dyed and designed (a treat from my Mother), check her out!

It's been a while since I've made roman blinds, here are three made for our new cottage in North Yorkshire. Fabric remnants from Barnaby Gates, Thibaut and French Toile de jouy linen, feels like home 😊

With great joy and sadness these two cushions are made to add the finishing touch to a very special bedroom, unfortunately, my much loved cousin didn't get to see the room she had created before she passed away earlier this year. Simple design to allow the beautiful velvet lilies to take centre stage, Lisa would have loved the luxurious feel 😊

Rainy Sunday, Happy sewing day. Box seat pad, cushions and bolster cushions for a friend's beautiful renovated house in France. Probably the most creative staircase ever, built around an internal tree trunk, wonderful!

I was fortunate to buy fabric remnants from Barnaby Gates when they were raising money for Ukraine, check them out as they design and print fabric and wallpaper, you can choose any colour combination so making your home individual to you. Cushion made for a house warming present for a friend, dramatic charcoal pineapple pattern teamed with a neutral linen, very tempted to keep it 😊

You know I only sew on showery days, so today fabric remnants, printed cotton and chenille teamed with an old cashmere scarf(I have washed it🙃) and ribbon trim for 2 new babies born recently. I love these French soft toys too 😊

Rainy Sunday so set to on my least favourite sewing job, boxed seat cushion, made 200" of piping, not quite enough green fabric so teamed it with a neutral chenille, trimmed the cushion with green tassel fringing, turned out ok!

Out came the fabric samples and trimmings, created lots of cushions, the lilac embroidered fabric retailed at £388.00 per mtr, the bees, pineapple and pheasants are Barnaby Gates fabric 🙃😊

It's my lucky day, went into an Interior Design Shop in Woodstock looking for interesting wallpaper and was kindly given sample fabrics which are discontinued, 25 pieces!!!!! Velvet embroidered linen, French silk, Parisien embroidered fabric, French linen, Italian cotton print, Indian patterned linen, patterened cotton from Switzerland, so excited to team these up with my remnants and trimmings in the future 😄😁

I'm on a roll, a 20cm square embroidered piece of harris tweed twinned with silk and tiny pieces of left over curtain fabric made a cushion to coordinate with designers guild velvet cushions made a couple of years ago, button detailing on the reverse!

Remnants again, striped house warming present with leather loops and buttons, luxury jungle print velvet calmed down with linen striped reverse with leather loops and beautiful buttons for a playroom.

I was given a tiny left over piece of fabric (ILIV Fig & Strawberry), looked at my remnants and found a coordinating striped fabric and pompom trim, perfect. Never throw away a beautiful piece of fabric it will alway make something! The cushion will compliment roman blinds and teal velvet sofa.
