🕊️ ** : Demand Andrey's Safe Return**
Andrey Kozlov, a Masa alumnus, vanished after the Nova party as Hamas took him hostage in Gaza. In Israel, our connections are tight—just two degrees of separation apart, as they say. Today, our hearts are heavy, standing together in solidarity as we send prayers to Andrey and his family, who are facing a horrible nightmare. We demand Andrey's release and join the call for the release of over 230 hostages. Let's bring them back home.
In the last 10 days, we have heard from many of you that are struggling to navigate what is going on in Israel when in your Jewish and non-Jewish settings. Whether that be at work, at uni or with your friends.

Together we stand strong. Israel stands strong🇮🇱🙌🏻
Many people in Israel and around the world are dealing with a harsh reality of many losses, feelings of fear and anxiety, and many questions. We want you to know that we are thinking of you and thinking about the families of the victims and the captured and continue to support our security forces who are protecting the citizens of Israel.
We gathered five tips that might help you during these challenging times and we keep working with our organisers and participants to give them the practical, logistical and mental tools to help them continue their daily routine in Israel.
Together we are stronger 🇮🇱
This morning, Israel was rocked by rockets from the Gaza Strip and terrorist infiltrations in neighboring areas.
Our Chief Security Officer and staff are in constant contact with our program organizers, who are reaching out to our Fellows in Israel. We are ensuring their safety and providing guidance during these challenging times.
Our thoughts are with the victims of this sudden escalation, and we remain committed to supporting everyone to the best of our abilities.
In honor of International Women’s Day on March 8, Masa is proud to release its annual list that recognizes Jewish women who inspire generations through their impactful work. These 12 women have set high standards for future Jewish leaders who aspire to become agents of change. Across continents, industries, and issues, these 12 incredible women have made strides in their fields while bringing communities together amid turbulent times.

Yoel walked from Manchester to London to raise awareness for Holocaust Remembrance Day
Yoel is walked 212 miles from Manchester to London, documenting the journey on social media and sharing stories of Holocaust victims along the way.
Yoel's goal is to not only raise awareness for the atrocities of the Holocaust but also to remind us of the important lessons that can be learned from this dark period in history.
“I believe it is important to remember the atrocities of the Holocaust and to ensure that they are never repeated." I hope that the walk will help to raise awareness for the Holocaust and the important work being done by organisations like the Yad Vashem UK Foundation." Read more via link in bio🔆
This week we hosted our yearly Masa Wilf Leadership Summit which was attended by 100 Masa fellows from 20 different programs and 12 countries.
Apart from participating in adaptive leadership throughout the week, our Fellows went on exposure visits in Jerusalem to hear and see examples of different challenges in the field. On Tuesday, our fellows had the esteemed opportunity to visit the President's Residence and meet with the President of Israel, Isaac Herzog. During the meeting, four of our fellows, shared their personal stories and discussed how they have faced challenges such as antisemitism, as well as how they have demonstrated leadership within their communities and on their respective campuses.
We will keep giving our fellows the right tools to become the next leaders of their generation and give them opportunities to learn and grow.
About Habonim Dror programme 🙌 “Honestly? I could make an endless list telling you what Shnat involves, but without sounding clichéd, you have to do it to understand what it really is. Whilst here I’ve travelled Israel, learning about its history, culture, and potential for the future, I’ve found a deeper connection with Habonim and developed valuable leadership skills. I’ve built unbreakable bonds with worldwide Habonim members, from America, Canada and Australia to South Africa and Aotearoa New Zealand. I’ve been granted a second family through living in a kvutzah. I’ve challenged myself and grown as a person. You really want to know what Shnat is? Try it for yourself!”
.blitz on the gap year programme 🤩🤩: “My name is David Blitz and I am on the Aardvark Israel Tech Track programme. I have been on the programme for just over 2 months.
For me, the main reason I did the programme was that I was able to spend time in Israel learning a new skill, and learning more about my country and religion alongside the coding.
I have started to learn how to code, by the end of the first semester I hope to be a qualified full-stack developer.
I have also learnt so much about the country of Israel that I did not know before. Exploring the country every Tuesday on our Tiyul Tuesday, as well as on free weekends but also a lot more about the politics in the country.
I have gained so many skills like being able to live and cook by myself to just name a few.
100% I recommend the programme, I couldn’t have imagined for a better experience with great support from the Madrichim (counselors) and all the Aardvark staff as well as meeting people from all over the world and creating friendships with people from Venezuela, England, America and Canada.
One meaningful moment was when as the Aardvark Jerusalem community along with one of the Tel Aviv communities went on a trip for 3 days to Kibbutz Ketura in the South of Israel near Eilat. Here we were able to properly meet everyone and make more friendships with the people on Aardvark whilst doing activities like visiting sand dunes and sitting by a bonfire.” Want to hear more? Meet , on gap year programme🤩
“Hi, my name is Katie Freedman and I am currently on the FZY gap year programme in Israel. I have been on the programme for just over two months now and at the moment, I am volunteering at a local high school, teaching students ages 16-18 English.
I initially chose this programme because of all the praise I heard from friends who had taken this gap year previously. I also chose it because I wanted to experience living independently in Israel and I knew that FZY could offer me that.
So far, I have learned so many life skills, from budgeting to finding my way round different cities by myself, as well as gain a better view of Israeli culture by taking myself around the cities and partaking in all of our trips.
I would 100% recommend this programme to everyone who is either thinking of taking a gap year or to someone who doesn’t know what to do yet after college. This programme has given me life long friends and ever-lasting memories that cannot be topped by anything else.
One meaningful moment has to have been our first shabbaton in Beit She’an as this was our first time to meet everyone on year course! It was so special to celebrate such an important time of the week with people from all around the world, each bringing their own customs and sharing their traditions with new friends.״
Are you looking for a gap year in Israel or a chance to study in Israel? Join us on Sunday the 4th of December in North London to hear about all your opportunities in Israel 😃
You don't want to miss out on this, you will thank us later! 🫶

Antisemitism has no place in this world. Jews around the world should feel safe, always.
We stand together with the Jewish communities all over the world and we are doing everything we can to fight antisemitism.
We understand the importance of continuing to give our fellows and alumni the right tools to combat antisemitism and other challenges they might encounter when they return to their home communities.
Gmar Hatima Tova. May you be inscribed in the Book of Life. Have a meaningful and easy Yom Kippur.🙏
Where will your Masa take you?
Next year in Israel..?😉
Wishing you all Shana Tova!🍎🍏🍯
Masa mourns the loss of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
“I will never forget the occasion when the queen stayed for two hours longer than her scheduled departure time. The day was January 27, 2005; the occasion, the sixtieth anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. The queen had invited survivors to a reception at St James’s Palace. Each had a story to tell, and the queen took the time to listen to every one of them. One after another came up to me and said, 'Sixty years ago I did not know whether tomorrow I would be alive, and here I am talking to the queen.' That act of listening was one of the most gracious royal acts I have ever witnessed." (Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, Lessons in Leadership)

Andrey Kozlov participated in a Masa program last year and interned at Syte, a succesful company in Tel Aviv. After finishing his program, he embarked on a new chapter in his life and he was truly enjoying life in Israel. On the morning of October 7, his life and of his dear ones changed. He was working as a security guard at the Nova Festival in Re’im, when the chaos started to unfold. Initially, he reassured his loved ones that everything was fine but unfortunately, that was the last contact they had with him. Andrey’s story is one of the 240 heartbreaking tragedies involving innocent people who fell into the hands of Hamas and were taken to Gaza. We share Andrey’s story to shed light on his situation and to join the collective call for the safe return of him and all hostages to their homes. #bringthemhomenow
Thank you Yonatan Sinclair and Keshev for this important message on how to take care of yourself during these challenging times. Praying for a calm week 🇮🇱

Every Passover, we reread the Haggadah - the story of how the Jewish people fled Egypt for the land of Israel. This epic journey changed our history forever. We asked our Masa Fellows what Passover means to them. For some, it will be their first Pesach in Israel, celebrating with friends and family. Our Fellows will ask themselves what the next step in their lives will be, after their Masa program. What does freedom mean to you? How will you be celebrating this Passover? Hag Sameach from Masa Israel Journey! 🌻
