Take a look at our Costa Rica trip report for this year! I want to extend a huge thank you to the wonderful friends who came on the tour and made it all possible. Additionally, I would like to express my gratitude to the fantastic Juan Diego Vargas for finding us so many incredible birds! The last birding session in Costa Rica produced a life bird for me! We were at Curi-Cancha photographing a Lesson’s Motmot when this beauty walked across the trail under the motmot. Thanks to Juan Diego Vargas and his keen eyes we were able to relocate it for photos.

Happy Thanksgiving!

The Hoatzin is nicknamed “The Stinky Turkey,” because of its foul odor. Hoatzins only eat leaves, which are often hard to digest, and as such they have adapted over the years. Hoatzins break down and ferment leaves in their stomach, causing this foul odor.

We need your help in raising funds for these precious children of Eton Primary School to get clean safe water. This is a school we visited in Uganda last year on our birding tour. The children were so happy to meet us. We brought them school supplies but what they really need is clean safe water. Water is life!

We are trying to raise $3600 for a rainwater catchment system, filters and hand washing station for Eton Christian Primary School. Please click on the link below to donate and learn more about this wonderful nonprofit organization and the Ugandan Water Project, that is building the water system. They employ local Ugandans to do the work to support the local community. This will make a big difference for the children of the school.

Clean water is a key to transformation and freedom for families who are affected by the global water crisis. Providing water at education centers impacts children- the future leaders of Uganda- in profound ways and brings opportunities for the future so men, women and children in Uganda can live the lives they were created for!
