This fall, we’re offering something new. Partly a scavenger hunt, somewhat a mystery. Definitely an adventure. Completely interactive. Teamwork is a must. Humor is essential. This fall, we’re offering Tale/Spin Museum Adventures, where familiar stories are spun up and mixed around. Using clues, details, and your own smarts, you’ll figure out what’s going on…because these are YOUR adventures, and what happens is largely up to you. Prepare to set sail for the first one this October…

Did you know that in the Met’s American Wing Courtyard there’s a group of marble statues portraying larger-than-life women from literature and history? And can you spy perhaps one of the next great female leaders peeping at her history from the steps? It’s a stop on our “Stages” theater tour, but it’s also a great place to wander and contemplate on your own.

The stories tour goers tell on our tours are as—if not more important than—the stories we tell on the tour itself. And isn’t that kind of the point? Had the absolute privilege of sharing an afternoon with the visitors on that tour, and like the feeling you have at the end of all great stories, we’re infinitely the richer for it.

Do you love the written word so much that you carry around a giant quill to write when inspiration strikes—or perhaps to use as a bookmark? If so, you might have bookitis, a harmless condition that renders the bearer helpless in the face of stories of all kinds. But fear not! Proximity to the written word will help—and you might enjoy our most bookish museum tour yet: “The Art of Stories.”

Our Story

fable & lark offers experiential, interactive museum tours inspired by iconic stories. Our fast-paced tours incorporate activities, games, handouts and takeaways; we use the art to illuminate the books, and vice versa. Explore spaces and places in the Metropolitan Museum that are reminscent of the ones in the “Harry Potter” series; look at the real creatures that inspired mythical ones in the Natural History Musuem. Join a fairy-tale themd tour; or one about demi gods and heroes.

We’re redefining how you visit museums. Come join us.
