A great review of Wednesday morning's Chester Tour! It was absolutely pouring with rain most of the time, so we mainly stayed on the Rows and visited quirky places like the Boot Inn, the view from the porthole window at Huxley's, the cellar under Pret A Manger with its Roman columns, the tiny museum above Lowe's jewellers with its display about the family member who fired shots in the air to keep 3rd class at bay while loading 1st class passengers onto a lifeboat on the Titanic, and the cellar under the Bridge Cafe with its Roman hypocaust.

A brand new addition to the pubs of Chester - Bishop Lloyds Pub, located on the rows in Watergate Street in the historic Bishop Lloyds Palace, opened yesterday.
Neil Chesters brews 600 litres of Chester Beer each week and also owns Huxleys on the City Walls next to the Eastgate - which boasts of having the best view on Chester through a porthole window installed by a former sea captain who was nostalgic for life on the ocean wave.
