Our Story
Gathering artists Gaelin Little, Tara Silverthorn, Lucille Teppa & Cat Westwood, Eleven Farrer House (EFH) was founded in 2013. Initiation and authorship shift from project to project. Individual creativity is supported and nourished through collective exchanges; providing the ground for actualisation of bespoke works and investigation of practice.
Aiming to offer refreshing and thoughtful dance-related experiences to many, EFH address and reaches the widest range of contexts and audiences possible by facilitating new strategies for performance such as:
- creating pieces in non-traditional venues and engaging with local communities: ‘Disappearance at Sea’, lighthouse project hosted in Norfolk rural environment (initiated by Gaelin)
- making customizable works, allowing public members to get directly involved in the design of the performance they wish to see: ‘Species of Spaces’ (initiated by Lucille)
- offering the potential for flexible and adaptable performance formats: ‘Birds’ (newly initiated by Tara)
EFH’s work has been performed at various venues in England and beyond: Chisenhale Dance Space (London), Happisburgh Lighthouse (Norfolk), The Point (Eastleigh), The Cut (Halesworth), Dance Limerick (Ireland) and The Studio on the Green (Scotland); supported by Rebecca Skelton Fund, Norfolk County Council, Ballet National de Marseille, Lisa Ullmann Travelling Scholarship Fund, Arnolfini, Dance Limerick, Creative Scotland, Dance Base, Dance Research Studio, Live Borders and Arts Council England.
