I’ve spent this last week adding key school dates to our calendar, figuring out how we get our 4 kids to their sports/activities each week, and compiling a list of games to send to grandparents. I went through emails and different apps for each sport.

And as I was figuring out this calendar puzzle, I immediately blocked off a November Cozy Escape trip. We’ll be ready for it.

As you plan for this next season, don’t forget to plan for some slow time too!

Hi! We are the Laurin family (+ Flat Stanley). We understand that getting away with kids can be stressful.

I’m packing for five people, looking at the weather, and trying to pick outfits I’m ok with getting dirty. I’m planning meals that the kids and adults will like, that don’t involve a ton of ingredients, and won’t result in too many leftovers. I’m trying to balance having a list of places to check out in the area, with being spontaneous. It’s a lot.

But it is so worth it! Take the trip. You won’t regret it. And it’s ok if your plans and prep aren’t perfect!

Every time I go to Cozy Escapes, I can feel myself take a deep breath. I open the door, go inside, and stand still for a moment. I am so relaxed. And this is at my “work” and a place that I go to often. Each time it still feels magical and special.

Today, I took down Christmas decorations while listening to podcast. I got other work done and had new ideas and felt less stress. It was a perfect way to spend a rainy day.
