Chorten Kora in Bhutan https://bit.ly/2NN9a52

A Must-Visit Place in East Bhutan.

A symbol of peace and harmony, an ancient architecture, built in 1740 and the place for a famous festival for people in Bhutan and Dakpa people of Arunachal Pradesh, you have to pay a visit to Chorten Kora on your next trip to Bhutan.

Chorten Kora is a symbol of peace and harmony, situated in East Bhutan. The position of this white-coloured stupa next to the Kholongchu River makes it an amazing sight to explore. Built by Lama Ngawang Loday in honour of his late uncle in 1740, Chorten Kora is modeled after the popular architecture of the Boudhanath stupa in Nepal.

The best part about Chorten Kora is its festivals. There are two famous festivals held in this place, one is Dakpa Kora where circumambulation of the Chorten by the Dakpas, people from Arunachal Pradesh. Another is Drukpa Kora, where circumambulation of the Chorten by the Bhutanese. The first one is celebrated on the 15th day of the first lunar month and Drukpa Kora is held at the end of that same month.

Plan a trip to this magnificent place this year.

Join us this September for an amazing Bhutan Trip to explore places Dochu La from where the snow-covered Himalayan peaks are visible prominently and one of them is Mt. Masanggang, the highest peak of Bhutan.

Dochu La or Dochu Pass is a mountain pass in Bhutan that lies on the road from Thimphu to Punakha. There are three famous landmarks you can explore in Dochu La: Druk Wangyal Khang Zhang Chortens, Druk Wangyal Lhakhang and the rhododendron garden.

Druk Wangyal Khang Zhang Chortens: These are known as 108 memorial chortens built by the eldest Queen Mother, Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuk. They are built atop a central hillock and are famed as chortens of victory.

Druk Wangyal Lhakhang: There is also a monastery in Dochu La. A mesmerising site of the monastery with pristine forests and the snow-clad Himalayas in the background looks fascinating on a bright sunny day. In the front yard of the monastery, Dochu La Wangyal Festival is held on the13th December every year to commemorate the victory of the Fourth Druk Gyalpo and the Armed Forces in 2003.

Rhododendron Garden: The garden is a part of Bhutan’s first Royal Botanical Park.

Trongsa Dzong, the most spectacularly sited dzong in Central Bhutan.

Join us this September when Bhutan is reopening its border for international tourists, for a trip to the most spectacularly sited dzong, Trongsa Dzong in central Bhutan. Cultivated with rich history and located in an admiring geographical position, the dzong is easily accessible from any point in the country.

Trongsa Dzong is one of the grandest monuments in Bhutan, located atop a hillock, on the steep ridges above the ravines of the Mangde Chuu valley. For its strategic geographical position, it is visible from any corner of the town. Or, you can say the town resides around this dzong. The grand complex of the dzong houses more than 30 beautiful temples. The watchtower overlooking the dzong also has a temple dedicated to Gesar. It is believed that the Tshechu (festival) of Trongsa is the oldest one in Bhutan and other Tshechus are inspired by it.

Rinpung Dzong, Paro, Bhutan >> https://cutt.ly/JZT3era

Add this Bhutanese wonder to your Bhutan itinerary in upcoming September when the country is going to reopen its border for international tourists. Learn its history and explore its architecture with us. Revisit the places where the famous movie “Little Buddha” was shooted.

Popular as Paro Dzong, Rinpung Dzong houses the district government offices, local courts as well as the monastic body of Paro. The formal name of the dzong is Rinchen Pung Dzong, which colonially means “Fortress on a heap of jewels.”

It was built under the command of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the most renowned figure of the country, who is referred to as the unifier of Bhutan. Built in 1644, the dzong has been used as a protector against the invasion of Tibet several times in the past.

This Buddhist Monastery and Fortress is built atop Hungrel and it has 14 shrines inside it. Due to its location on the top of a hill, it is visible from every corner of the Paro Valley. Outside the building of the dzong, there is a temple, called Deyangkha Temple. Moreover, there is a seven-storied watchtower on the hill above the dzong, which is now home to the National Museum of Bhutan. Below the main building, there is a traditional wooden bridge called Nyamai Zam, which was reconstructed when the previous one got washed away in 1969 due to a flood.

The great annual festival or tshechu is held in the courtyard of the monastery in March or April, according to the traditional Bhutanese calendar. The whole place turns into a colourful and happening place with the mask dances and several events performed by the monks.

Rinpung Dzong or Paro Dzong remains open from 8 AM to 6 PM every day except Sundays. However, there are some restricted areas where visitors are not allowed.
