Teutonic Translations Fairbanks, AK-based German to English translation business owned by Claudi Thompson specializing in

I specialize in medical, legal, and geoscience translations but also translate personal documents, brochures, and news articles. My goal is to provide you with high-quality translations that meet your needs and help you succeed in a timely and cost-effective manner. When you do business with Teutonic Translations there is no middle-person. From early conversations, to quotes, to specifics about yo

ur text, to the translation and billing; the only person you will communicate with is me. This provides you with a quick and effective way to get your translations completed. As a German > English translator I am uniquely qualified because I am a German native who completed high school and four years of undergraduate education in Germany. In addition, for the past 20+ years I have lived and breathed US English, soaked up American culture, and completed graduate studies at an American university. I studied Physical Geography and Soil Science at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt/Germany and earned a Master's degree in Quaternary Science (the study of the ice ages) from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. My career path has provided me with valuable experiences in the fields of science, natural history, environmental protection, and social services. I have helped patients to quit to***co products, coached clients with chronic mental illness to gain employment skills, and worked with everyday people to get their lives organized. Through my ability to listen, learn, and adapt and great attention to detail I have gained the skills necessary to see your project through to completion, no matter what the obstacles are.

Pseudo-anglicisms are words in other languages that seem like English but aren’t. Though some people are still concerned about them creeping into use.

I'm happy to share another wonderful recommendation. This one is from Cathleen Waters, owner of New World Medium:

"I have hired Claudi for German to English projects on more than one occasion and I look forward to our continued relationship: Claudi is responsive, keeps deadlines, and is an excellent DE > EN linguist. I would highly recommend her work."

I’m thrilled to share this recent testimonial:

"Claudi is an excellent German into English translator whose work is exemplary. She is extremely detail-oriented and accurate and goes above and beyond to make the translation the best it can be. Her tireless efforts in deciphering illegible text were very much appreciated. Her formatting skills are outstanding. We will definitely look forward to using her as a language specialist for future projects.” Erin Berzins, Rescribe.

This was for my largest job to date, over 26,000 words of medical documents.
