Heart of England Tours Posts by Diane Clarke, Blue Badge Tourist Guide. Creating bespoke walking & driving tours in the Heart of England and across the UK

Hello and thank you for visiting my page. Since gaining my Blue Badge Tourist Guide qualification in 2001, I have specialised in providing bespoke driver-guided tours for travellers from around the world. Tours can be tailored to provide an overview of any area or be more specific, covering subjects such as Literary figures, Art, TV & Film locations, etc. and can include a mix of cultural

, sightseeing, walking and driving. I am often asked to carry out genealogy tours with guests who wish to trace their family history. This is always a fascinating and interesting journey. I have met people whose ancestors set sail from England on the Mayflower; some whose family tree includes famous characters such as Erasmus Darwin (grandfather of Charles) to descendents of James Wyatt the 18c architect. It can often be a very emotional moment when we discover sites connected with a distant family member and I feel very privileged to take part in their search. I live in Birmingham at the centre of the Heart of England region. Within easy access of transport links to the rest of the UK I am always willing to collect from & return to your accommodation, airport / seaport / railway station.

A few snippets of the wonderful guitar concert performed by William Hudd in aid of High Offley Parish Church funds. William is able to express such a wide range of emotions through his playing. Often moving one to tears of both joy and of sadness.v Between each piece and in his own inimitable & humorous style, William connects with his audience by sharing stories of the life & times of various composers. His love for the music & his instrument is captivating. A splendid evening of music played to a full house at Woodseaves Village Hall.

My French plait is helping me take flight 😂 I’ve had a lot of messages since the UK tour was announced asking when I’m in coming to the USA - I’ll be there in April doing a 6 date concert tour! I’ll listed all the dates below 🙂 oh, and if you’re thinking of coming along on the UK tour - a couple of venues are almost sold out already (woooo) so worth booking sooner rather than later. Wooohooooooo ❤️
P.S. I wish I could include more dates, but as each venue requires a couple of days for registering the programme, this is as many as we could manage (whilst also factoring travel between each place) - I'll be coming back soon, though!

US tour:
Northrop, Minneapolis 2nd April
Atlantic City, NJ 5th April
Princeton, NJ 8th April
Pittsburgh, PA 12th April
San Luis Obispo, CA 17th April
Los Angeles, CA 21st April

All my upcoming concerts are always listed here: https://annalapwood.co.uk/concerts

Walking another section of coastal path. Gurnards Head to Porthmeor. Pretty challenging in places...rocky underfoot and lots of ups and downs. Rewarded with a little refreshment at the end of an atmospheric afternoon's exertion.

Our Story

Hello and welcome to my home town of Birmingham in the Heart of England region. After a career in fashion manufacturing I qualified as a Blue Badge Tour Guide in 2001. Since then I have specialised in providing personalised, private tours of Birmingham and surrounding areas. I love my work and am always happy to be given the opportunity to share my enthusiasm with visitors from my home country or abroad.

As a 'born and bred Brummie', I have seen many changes to Birmingham over the last 20 years; from a city with a reputation for heavy industry Birmingham has become a highly regarded centre of excellence in all areas of business and culture. A wide variety of restaurants, great shopping, museums and galleries plus numerous local attractions make Birmingham a popular tourist destination with leisure and business visitors alike.

Just a forty minute drive from Birmingham city centre are the famous 'Shakespeare Country' towns of Stratford upon Avon and Warwick with the Cotswold hills beyond.

Whatever your reason for coming to Birmingham and however much or little time you have to spare, I would be delighted to tailor a walking and/or driving tour that will help you discover the hidden. . .Heart of England.
