Happy Memorial Weekend everyone. 🇺🇸. Michael’s excited to harvest rhubarb and asparagus, I’m loving the lilacs. We hope you have something fun planned this weekend.
Here’s a funny foodie story. We got our camper out yesterday. We met another couple and started talking about food. The woman gave Michael a cooking tip. Make a big pot of spaghetti, eat it for 3 days and on the 4th day add some soy sauce to make it taste different. 🤔. I don’t think we will me doing that 😂😂😂. Happy Monday everyone.

Samfaina is a cooked vegetable dish that comes from Spain and features eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes and sometimes peppers. It is similar to a French Ratatouille. My version is diced small and cooked down for many hours to create an incredible base for fish, pork or chicken dishes....

Yesterday was the Sant Jordi celebration in Catalonia. The tradition is to gift red roses for the ladies and a book for the gentlemen.

In the spring when green peas hit the market, I find myself shucking pounds of them to create these wonderful Green Pea ravioli. The fresh lemon and olive oil sauce complements, but doesn’t over power their delicate flavor. Make them green by using Spinach pasta dough, or have a contrast in colors by using Egg pasta dough....

My recipe for Crispy whole Fish features a few unique ingredients including Salted Black Beans and Chinese Five Spice. Some people can’t get past the fact that the fish is staring back at them while they eat. Whole, appropriately sized fish can also be difficult to find. In either case, fish fillets work equally well in this recipe, and it is a whole lot easier to eat....

This isn’t a Foodie Adventure… but Michael’s been crafty at the barn. Beautiful new Work Bench / Storage he built for his shop. Bravo Chef 👨🍳
I create two wonderful versions of this refreshing and light soup. The first version is given here, made with fresh mussels. The other version is made with chicken breast. After you infuse the wine with the lemon grass as in step one, strain it and reserve the liquid for step 4, in place of the mussel cooking liquid. Skip step 2 and add 1 pound of skinless and boneless chicken breast (thinly sliced) in step 5 in place of the mussels....
