May 8, 2016 - WASHINGTON: Thousands of Pakistanis and Americans in Washington reached the Pakistan Embassy here to celebrate the annual cultural and educational events.

On Sunday, Pakistani Community in collaboration with the Pakistan Embassy arranged the event to increase public awareness about Pakistan in which range of cultural and educational activities were featured.

Several colorful events were organised including food, art, fashion, music, folk dances and diverse aspects of Pakistan’s rich culture.
At the end of the day, documentaries depicting Pakistan’s ancient civilization’s roots, history, development, geographical diversity, and richness of culture were also screened in the Embassy auditorium.
Constellationplus coffee table Books (Churches of Pakistan, The Sikh Heritage of Pakistan, The Buddhist Heritage of Pakistan and The Hindu Heritage of Pakistan) were part of event.

ISLAMABAD, May 9 2016: Foreign Office organised a three-day exhibition reflecting Pakistan's ancient culture and civilisation which attracted a large number of history lovers along with diplomats.

The exhibition titled 'Ancient Pakistan' is showcasing artifacts and relics from ancient civilisations belonging to the region including Gandhara, Harappa, Mehrgarh and Moen-Jo-Daro.

The three-day event was jointly inaugurated on Monday by Federal Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid, Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi and National Security Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) Nasser Khan Janjua amongst other dignitaries, local and foreign diplomatic staff.

Sartaj Aziz in his opening remarks said that Pakistan is known as the Gift of Indus whose tributaries have nourished life throughout this region since times immemorial. The ancient sources of the region's culture have created an empathy between Pakistan and other countries of Central, South and East Asia which needs to be strengthened.

Embassy launches book on Churches of Pakistan, holds first-ever Christmas Gala

Paris A grand Christmas Gala and book launching was held by the Embassy here this evening. It was first ever Christmas related event that was held by the Embassy of Pakistan here in Paris. French Senator Jean-Claude Boulard was the Chief Guest of the event. Speaking on the occasion, the ambassador of Pakistan in France Mr. Ghalib Iqbal said that holding of this Christmas Dinner is not only a gesture of solidarity with our French friends, but also with Pakistani Christians living in France.
During his speech the ambassador highlighted the basic principles of the rights given to Pakistani minorities by its constitution. He quoted from Qaid e Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah who unequivocally declared that minorities are free to go to their mosques or temples. Religion of a citizen has nothing to do with the affairs of the state. He said that by holding this event we are sending a message across that we share the moments of joy and festivity with our Christian brethren. He said that Pakistan has been fighting terrorism and extremism with all its commitment and might. He reminded that Pakistan has lost thousands of lives and has suffered losses of billions to its economy in this war.
On this occasion, at ambassador’s announcement, one-minute silence was observed to express solidarity with the victims of recent terror attacks in Paris.
The leaders of Pakistani Christians community in France also spoke on the occasion. They appreciated and expressed their gratitude of the embassy for holding this event. Variety of Pakistani foods was served to the guests. National anthems of Pakistan and France were played. Christmas songs were presented by the children, women and elders together. Senator Jean-Claude Boulard also spoke on the occasion. He appreciated the holding of this dinner. He acknowledged the sacrifices of Pakistan in eliminating terrorism and extremism. He also spoke about strong bilateral relations between France and Pakistan and expressed his confidence that they will continue to grow further in coming days.
Later, the French version of “Churches of Pakistan”, a book published by the Foreign Office of Pakistan about the churches of Pakistan was launched. Originally, this book was published in English. Senator Jean-Claude Boulard, ambassador Ghalib Iqbal, Bishop Cardinal Pascal Gallnisch and Francois Piccard of France 24 TV cut the inaugural tape. The ambassador said that this beautiful book containing the photographs of some majestic and historic churches of Pakistan is our gift to the whole Christian World. The Senator and other guests were over-joyed by the presentation of the book. The event was largely attended by members of Christian community living in France, notables from various walks of French life, media and officers and staff of the embassy.

I received your latest Publication, " Buddhism in Pakistan." I cant tell you how I enjoy reading all your coffeetable books. I dont know what to appreciate most: The logic of the lay out, the clarity of the pictorial work, the quality and design of the books, or the text. The latter is so pleasent to read because in all the four books, you don't "advertise" religion but you follow a historical approach. And that takes the reader from their beginnings right to the present time showing how these various religions influence the lives of their followers in our time. The texts show that a lot of research has gone into them to become such homogenous narratives. No earlier readings on the religious heritages of mankind have given me , by their vivid style , such clear understanding of the great spiritual developments as your excellent work.
I congratulate you and your team on your achievement and hope that you will come up with more publications of this kind.
