Morocco 🇲🇦 Day 2
It was a busy one for sure!
First stop was at Hassan Tower, the symbol of Rabat. Located across from the tower is the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, which contains the tombs of the king himself and his two sons.
Breathtaking design and architecture.
From there we “rocked the Kasbah” at Kasbah of the Udayas - inhabited by peoples of both Muslim and Jewish faith, it was built on the top of a hill to be more strong and protective against any attacks.
We then travelled a couple hours NE to the ancient Roman city of Volubilis (founded in the 3rd century B.C.). Once almost destroyed and buried after the great earthquake of Lisboa in 1755. Its restoration has revealed the most amazing features, and stunning mosaics. It was declared a Unesco World Heritage site in 1997. We then enjoyed an incredible lunch in the city of Meknes before making our way to Fes!
