Gators and Ghosts is an independent booking agent in New Orleans. We work with more than 25 different tour companies to find the right tour for you. You can explore New Orleans' incredible history: from the Native Americans, to French and Spanish rule, the Cajuns and the Creoles, the Louisiana Purchase, the pirate Jean Laffite, Andrew Jackson and the Battle of New Orleans, slavery, Madame LaLaurie

and her haunted mansion, Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau, Mardi Gras, jazz music, the Storyville brothels, early rock n' roll, Hurricane Katrina, and the ongoing rebuilding. While visiting new Orleans you can see our beautiful above ground cemeteries, the 24 hour party that is Bourbon Street, our amazing architecture, magnificent and fascinating plantations, the mighty Mississippi River, and our levees, canals, and parks. There are tours that can go deep in the bayou with a Cajun guide and so you can view alligators close up. At Gators and Ghosts we personally attend and research the various activities and excursions that we recommend, so we can ensure you’ll have a wonderful time. We love our city and our work. New Orleans has so much to offer and we are here to help you discover it.

Our most frequently asked question: Where is the swamp located?

We work with several different docks, all about a 30-ish minute drive from the French Quarter. Exactly which dock we place you at depends on a variety of factors, including which options you choose and availability for your desired tour time. We include all the details in our confirmation email.

Don't wanna deal with driving? We can pick you up! We can arrange round-trip transportation for a small upcharge. Usually it's cheaper than Uber and comes without the risk of surge pricing or being stranded while you wait for a driver to show up. The swamps are pretty rural and there often aren't many drivers out there.

The LaLaurie Mansion has reportedly been sold to a national ghost tour mogul who also owns the Lizzie Borden house and rents out nights in it's "murder room" for $375 a night.

A museum at the Haunted House on Royal Street could be better than it's most recent use a millionaire's party house, but renting out nights in the LaLaurie torture chamber, where the family severely abused, neglected and starved at least 7 of the enslaved people that they owned seems a step too far towards the crassly insensitive. Nobody knows what Zaal's plans are as of now, but we'll be watching intently.

Chomp chomp! A recent guest here in town for the Taylor Swift Eras Tours shared this photo from the airboat swamp tour she took with her fiancé. The alligator's name is Betty, she said, and Betty had just enjoyed a nice chicken wing.

In other parts of the country, Fall Back means an extra hour of drinking. In New Orleans the bars don't close unless the customers have all gone home. Plus your phone is gonna automatically update the time anyway. So I guess we don't really need to remind you to set your clocks back. But here it is anyway. Enjoy your extra hour!

From the start, European literature linked witches and vampires as symbols of evil, writes Bruce A. McClelland in his dense vampire study "Slayers and Their Vampires." Both figures have long fascinated people from all walks of life. As Western society became more secular, witches and vampires started representing the negative side of Christianity. Witches are shown as completely corrupting Christian rituals, while sacred Christian symbols like crosses and holy water can defeat vampires.
