Winter Storm Warning is out for Dc area including Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia. 6-12" could be expected throughout the area with higher amounts in the elevated areas. Gaithersburg, MD 5-9" (boom of 6-12"), and Charles Town, WV 8-12" Snow is already moving into the area. Its bests to stay home tomorrow.

Tropical Storm Watch out for the Florida Keys for a potential Hurricane Rafael coming up into the gulf. Looks like a strong front to the east will keep this away from most of florida, though a curve to the northeast might affect the Florida Panhandle. Wave action on the west coast from this.

Just had a run of 70 possible tornadoes which I have never seen that before. Finally subsiding down and now turn the attention to flooding and wind damage. Just starting, it will be interesting in the morning what we will see. Take care be safe!

The bullseye for Hurricane Milton looks to be Bradenton and Longboat Key just north of Sarasota. Good luck to those who are staying behind.

I am thinking Siesta Key and Sarasota will be ground zero for MIlton (based on current models). Hopefully all heeded the warning and evacauted and ar prepared to face this beast. The high damage area will be where center lands and about 20 miles to the north and 20 miles to the south. High severe damage that is. Tropical force winds could be felt 100 miles from center. The track is still wobbling north or south, but trending more to the south. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst!

Latest for Milton as of 8am. The track is still wiggling a bit to the north and south. Our friend though will be wind shear that could weakened the storm as it approaches the west coast. Either way it will still be a hurricane as it comes on shore. As always prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Stay informed and be safe!

Florida Governor Desantis has declared a state of emergency for 35 counties (Including Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Sumter, and Polk) for Hurricane Milton. This was expected to free up resources and get it all staged. It may get bad for Tampa area tuesday into wednesday.

Yet another system to bother the west coast of Florida, this one possibly going through Central FLorida next wednesday into thursday. The first system goes through sunday into tuesday dumping rain, and then a possible Milton. Gonna be an active weather event again for Florida. Difinitely will have to keep on eye on Milton. As you know track will change it always does, just be prepared just in case. SHould know more in the next day or two a more concrete track.

The rain total forecast for Florida for the next seven days as a system that is forming near Cancun takes shape and aims for Central Florida. Looks like it could become a tropical system, with some saying it could be nothing, while others say it could be a cat 1 hurricane. Still too far out to make an accurate prediction, but all models are showing this will be much weaker system than Helene.

I am hoping all are okay in Florida. Helene came on shore around Perry, FL as I was thinking it would. Alot of destruction from Helene in the Tampa Bay area. We will rebuild!

Hurricane Helene now a possible Cat 4 Hurricane when it makes Landfall late tomorrow in the Big Bend, maybe east of Perry, FL. I will be good as I am in Orlando, Fl, but am thinking hoping that the residents of Perry and those low lying areas (Shell Point, Alligator Point, St Marks, where a possible ground zero for landfall) along the beach where it is a good chance that area will be gone after the storm. Effects of the storm will be felt up to 200 miles to the east. Therefore the whole state of FLorida except the southeast (Miami) will feek some effects from Helene.

Current models still suggest a Big Bend landfall for FLorida. The center has not yet formed, so the track can, and will continue to wiggle to the east or west. Possibly following what Hurricane MIcheal did in 2018. Possible timeframe for landfall is thursday into friday.
