Why this matters. We are a small community in our area and there are lots of things going on. Sometimes there isn't so we have to expand

a little further into Weber County. So here you will find a mix of both. Ogden Valley is located East of Ogden Utah and in Weber County. Ogden Valley is comprised of three cities. Liberty, Eden and Huntsville. It has access to many campgrounds, hiking, biking trails. It has everything from a day at the lake to fishing on the river. It is the base for many events from local marathons to world wide competitions. It is known for its amazing snow and and local ski resorts. Local dining is a must. Beware of Brushing Scam!

A recent scam has been showing up in many states. We have not had any local reports, but want to make residents aware before you are victimized.

A "brushing" scam is when someone receives an unexpected gift or item not ordered in the mail from a place like Amazon or other company. Examples of gifts include, rings, bracelets, necklaces, Bluetooth speaker, etc. The gift will have the recipient’s address, but not include the sender's information or be from a known retailer. When the recipient opens the package to see what it is and possibly who sent it, there is a QR code to scan to find out who sent the gift.

The gift can be kept or thrown away, but the QR code should NOT be scanned for any reason. QR code scams are nothing new. These scams show up in all places, including parking meters.

Inform your family members about the scam and avoid scanning any unknown QR codes included in the package.

The Huntsville LDS Stake center is now open. Bathrooms and showers are available. Water is also available out of the kitchen. It will be open until 10 tonight and open at 6:30 am tomorrow morning ( Sunday)

Bathrooms are also available today at the Ogden valley community church, 9228 E 100 S, Huntsville, UT 84317.

Please check on your neighbors, especially those who would have difficulty getting their own water. For those, we have bottled water in front of the new town hall. This bottled water will be available today ( Saturday) at 12 noon at the new town hall building, 7474 e 200 s please save the bottled water for your neighbors who are unable to fill their own water.

We'll see noticeably colder temperatures across the area by Monday behind a cold front. The storm system will also mix out or at least noticeably weaken persistent northern Utah valley inversions. There will be some light snow for northern Utah, but accumulations should be light at best.
