With a little something for every woman – be she a recent college grad, a single CEO, a community-minded entrepreneur, a stay at-home mom or a retired grandmother – the magazine is designed, written, edited and published by women who live, work and play here, too. Our slogan - and our goal - is “Celebrating Orange, Ulster and Dutchess-Area Women” and we aim to do that with each and every issue.

Black Women’s Equal Pay Day - which symbolizes the approximate number of days a Black woman must work into the new year to make what their White non-Hispanic male counterparts made at the end of the previous year - is today, August 22. Sadly, it fell two-weeks later in 2019 than it did in 2018 (August 7), which suggests Black women are actually losing ground in the race toward .

“Despite Black women serving as chief breadwinners in at least 70 percent of our households, Black women’s compensation continues to languish—according to American Community Survey (ACS) Census data, the 2019 wage gap for Black women and men is $.61; while White female counterparts earn nearly $0.80 to the dollar.”

End of Sentence” is a 26-minute documentary on how the lives of a group of women in Hapur, India were changed by the development of a sanitary napkin-making machine that makes biodegradable and inexpensive pads in a place where periods cause women embarrassment and loss of education when they drop out of school once they hit puberty. So good, it won a Best Documentary (Short Subject) Oscar this year. Catch it on Netflix before it’s gone.

A powerhouse in the world of , she is a high-ranking professional in NYS, NCAA, USATF and IAAF associations having officiated state, regional, national collegiate, US Championships and Olympic Trials and Special Olympics A retired educator from the Monroe-Woodbury school district., she is an amazing inspiration to women in sports. 👑
