There are many ways to benefit Israel during these challenging times. One way that may not be as helpful, but worth mentioning is traveling to Israel to sample and rate some baked goods and treats. I did just that last week on my quick 3 day mission.
On Friday I went to the shuk which was a magnificent experience. Lots of fun looking places to get cuisine, beer, pastries, juice, coffee, spices, and other treats. I got some pickles and a wide variety of olives to enhance my Sabbath.
I then spotted a bakery and picked up a chocolate babka. I only realized afterwards that it was Marzipan, which I'm sure I have had before. Thankfully, I realized I have never rated a Marzipan babka before...only the rugguluch, which was a shtickle underwhelming due to being a bit too undercooked and not traveling well to America (they were purchased in America). This brings me to the babka:
Marzipan chocolate babka: The babka had great texture and it's freshness was clear right off the bat. Unlike the rugulach, the kakosh was not underdone or gooey, yet the flavor was robust and the aroma was inviting. I even brought some back for Lauren, and it held up well through an arduous journey and multiple security checkpoints. When I bite into a Marzipan babka, it feels like I am taking a delicious bite out of all of the goodness that Israel has to offer. Yum!

Before I left the shuk I had a Turkish coffee. They legit ground the beans in front of my eyes. While I don't like drinking pieces of coffee ground in my coffee, I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and look forward to trying the Ugandan or Costa Rican coffee beans upon my return to the Holy Land.

Lastly, I had a pomegranate juice before I left the shuk. Robust as hell! Mamish loved it! Gave me an extra spring in my step, which I needed.

I wasn't bold enough to try the Etrog juice. I need to work up the nerve to do this on my next visit, which will I'yh be in the near-term, under more peaceful circumstances, and with all 240 hostages and our brave soldiers back home. Amen!

As a health food nut, I love making my own nutrient rich healthy breakfast on Monday’s.
This morning we had a sweet potato with a scoop of plain Greek yogurt and a sprinkle of cinnamon, a garden salad with a drizzle of light olive oil, and a hard boiled egg with paprika, pepper, and spicy sauce.
