WHITBY
During our Yorkshire road trip, we stopped off in the stunning seaside town of Whitby
You could easily spend a long weekend here as there's so much to do, however, we only spent a few hours, but we're fast on our feet and managed to cover alot
We walked through the Old Town and up the famous 199 steps and saw the beautiful ruins of Whitby Abbey, back down the steps, we meandered in the many shops and stopped for a Lemon Top ice cream (ice cream cone with lemon iced sorbet on top) we then crossed over the water and climbed up to see Whitby from the other side, we visited the Whale Bone Arch and read up on Captain Cook who was from around this area and got his first apprentice job on ships, all four of his ships were indeed built in Whitby too! We stopped off at some of the many amusement arcades and then sat outside one of the many cafes for a freshly caught fish and chips

AURORA BOREALIS IN THE GARDEN
WOW! We were super lucky to be able to witness Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights in our own back garden here in the west coast of Scotland!
We've actually seen the Northern Lights once before and that was also in Scotland and that was magical too! However this time, Pam was in her jammies in bed when she read on socials that there was sightings in the local area, so jumped out of bed-tore Shannon away from the Fury v other guy fight and headed out to the garden.
THE BEST THAI CURRY EVER!
It has the heat, it has the flavour. It is beautifully presented. The staff are ever so friendly and the views are simply stunning.
The best Thai curry I have ever tasted, from anywhere in the world, including Thailand, is at The Beach House in Guernsey.
Everytime I visit Guernsey, I make sure I Visit The Beach House at least once, last time during our 5 week holiday, I visited 8 times, and yes, I had the Thai curry 8 times!!
You can choose from Thai Green Vegetable Curry, Thai Green Chicken Curry or Thai Green Seafood Curry.
Open all year round and serving food all day, The Beach House is located on Pembroke Bay, right on the beach, and of course the rest of the menu is yummy too, but my personal favourite, hands down is the curry

Days 9, 10, 11 We set off from Krakow early morning as we had a long drive ahead of us to Hungary via Slovakia, around 395km away. The maps looked liked it would be mountainous roads but they were actually much better, duel carriage ways most of the way, with rolling hills and passing lovely quaint....
HELLO 👋😘
It's been a while since we posted on Instagram and since we blogged, and in that time, our lives have changed quite a bit. We started blogging our travelling adventures back in 2011 and Soaring Through The Sky started in 2016. We were 20 somethings who took time off work to travel around Europe and also to pack our lives up and move to the other side of the world, twice.
In the past few years, since covid hit, we've changed, we've settled down, got married and had two kids.
We might not be travelling the way we used to, but not we are focusing on exploring our own back door and that now involves eating everything as we go. In 2023 we want to share with you, our best eats and the best Britain and its isles has to offer.
HAPPY 2023 🎉
After taking a year off from the blog we will strive to make great posts this year. In 2022 we took several trips around the beautiful UK mainland and Isles and Northern Ireland and we have lots of content to share, and this year we also hope to travel more around the UK
