Why I Choose Playa Del Carmen to Host the First International Women's Travel Fest
Hi, I’m alex with Travel Fashion Girl and the new owner of Women's Travel Fest I’m originally from Los Angeles and have been to over 50 countries. One of the most special places in the world to me is Playa del Carmen. 🩵
This is one of the reasons why I wanted to have the 11th annual Women’s Travel Fest here. I first visited in 2007 and every time that I’ve returned it’s as if something awakened within me. I hope that I can share a little of this destination’s transformational elements combined with the things that people love about Women’s Travel Fest.
I chose the Grand Hyatt as our first ever international venue because of its location, beauty, and intentional design. 😍 When I walked into the venue I fell in love and thought it was a beautiful space in the middle of a busy tourist destination.
Like many who live here, we know there’s something special about Playa del Carmen, and there is a local culture that’s not quite evident at first glance.
The Hyatt, despite being a big corporation, was able to capture some of that essence through the art and materials used in its design. With it’s breathtaking nature-inspired indoor and outdoor setting, I knew this was the perfect hotel to bring our community together to celebrate our love for travel.
While a few days may not be long enough to really get to know a destination, I hope to give you a little insider view on the magic of the Riviera Maya ☀️
