Iceland, you have tested us like no other country has done before. You're rough roads have caused the breakdowns of our tandem, we have felt winds like we have never felt before, your rain has hit our faces so hard that it stung, and then you continued to lure us back out each day because we can't miss a single opportunity to see what you have to offer. It isn't the weather we hoped for, but we accepted it as our authentic Icelandic experience. Besides, we don't scare easily.

Friday, after 95km, we had a big problem, because our hub didn't worked anymore. That was near to Pingvellir and so we went back to Reykjavik. After a lot of discussion we decided to go around the island by car. Now we're back and hope the bike can getting fixed tomorrow. Then we wanne cycle the golden circle.

Hæ Iceland! You said hello to us with more than 34km/h wind speed.

We did it! After another 1472,15 km, we arrived km via detours in Vancouver. Why detours? We had enough time and explored a bit on Vancouver Island.

We left the Rockies behind us, it wasn't less hilly. The landscape was still very nice.

We have explored it not only by the tandem, also on the water in a canoe and from the air in a 4-person aircraft. Here again thanks to Kevin and Jim, who have given us this flight!

On Vancouver Island we took our time. We made many rest days. Unfortunately the weather has not always appeared...

The last 4 days we stayed in Vancouver and relaxed a bit more in rhis beautiful city.

Vancouver, we got it!

ALBERTA - wild rose country

Flat, then hilly and mountainous finally. This is Alberta, which we drove 848,92 km in 58:24 h.

The national parks of Jasper and Banff were for us the highlight in Alberta. We drove the Icefield Parkway (Hwy 93). "The most beautiful road on earth!"

You feel very small, if you look at the mountains (no matter whether it is from far away or in between...). The Rockies are so beautiful. At the roadside wild flowers are growing and on the mountain peak is snow.

Although it was cloudy, the blue of the glaciers and of the Peyto Lake has impressed us.

Here in the Rockies we saw some other cyclists with luggage for the first time.

In the beginning, it was very hot. In the end, it was cold, but you could warm up on the campsites at a fire.

The next Province is done... In Saskatchewan we biked 517,36 km in 30:51 h.

Land of living Skies is the best slogan for Saskatchewan, because you can see so far. You can say in 20 minutes it'll rain. And after 20 minutes it's raining. So you can see when which weather is coming. We were very impressed of that.

The people and nature are very similar to Manitoba. Nice and flat ;)

Manitoba is small and full with the beginning of spring. Everywhere it's green and you hear all the birds singing.

After a rest in Winnipeg we carried on our journey. We didn't thought about the heavy headwind, as we planned our journey. So it was very hard to ride across this nice and flat Province. We we're veryimpressed by the wide view. You can see so far.

We're fine after 628 km and 44:82 h in the saddle.

ONARIO - yours to discover

we got it! Ontario is after 2378 km behind us...

Our first experience was, how to bike in the snow. But the weather changed a lot and we had temperatures from -7 up to 37 degrees of celsius. We can say: We had everything snow, ice, hail, sun, wind and headwind...

We saw many wild animals, but mostly birds. In Ontario you have a lot of forest, lake and of course the water falls. The Niagara Falls were very impressive... We really like this kind of nature.

We're fine, just the bottom hurts a little after 149:39 hours in the saddle...

After approx. 1700 km you can expect the first photos :)
