Great dinner tonite! We were at la Ramada . We had the Piatt’s, Andy Anderson , Laura Rau, and the Allessio’s. Let the good times roll!

Great ride today! 4 of us took a trip to Hermiston for breakfast at Hales. We had Laura Rau, John Burres, Dave Parker and myself (rdub). We left Walla Walla at 9am with outside temp of 42°. A bit nippy if
You catch my drift! We had a great breakfast and the a blast home. Parker rode straight to tri cities for a parts run. Laura, John and I came straight home. It was about 55° on the way home. Laura just got her bike back after a short stay in the M/C hospital. Looked like it made a full recovery!

Just back from a last minute blast to Palouse Falls! T Varnell and I made a last minute decision to take a ride. We went out Lower Waitsburg road to Bolles Jct road and then to Starbuck. Stopped for a bite to eat at Lyons Ferry marina and then a short hop to the Falls. The gravel portion to the falls is pretty sh*tty! Very bad washboarding. We came home via hiway 12 thru Dayton. About 140 miles in total. Right at 70 degrees full sun!

We had 4 of us today for a breakfast ride to Pendleton for a visit to Roosters. It was so great to be on the trike and cruising down the road. Today we had S Shafer,J Edson, D Parker and myself (rdub). Perfect weather and very little traffic!

So took ole blue out for a very short ride. First one since I did the work on my shift levers. The improvement is nothing short of amazing! Made a little blast to Dixie, just enough to blow the cobwebs off. Damm it felt good!

So, there is a lot of talk about kids identifying as cats or dogs “furries”, and this is hilarious. 😂. Imagine if you can, that one of my boys told me they thought they were a cat?

Sitting at the supper table son says: “Dad, I think I’m a cat!

Dad: “No son, you’re a boy! “

My son: “No dad some of my friends at school identify as cats, they call themselves furries, and so do I !! It’s my right and you can’t do anything about it!”

Dad: 🤔 “OK!! “

My son: “Hey, where’s my supper? “

Dad: “Your supper is in the catfood bowl in the corner. Now get off the table you mangy cat!”

My son: “What???”

Dad: hits him with a broom, “get off the table furball!!”

My son in the corner looking bewildered!

Me to my wife : “Is that cat neutered”??

My wife: “I will make an appointment!! “

My son: “What??? “ 😳

Dad: “Your mother and I have decided we don’t want a house cat, so get out to the barn and hunt mice!”

My son: “What???”

Dad: brandishes broom, “NOW, to the barn you stupid cat!!”

My son: “Dad, I think I’m a boy!”

Dad: “I thought so, now sit down and eat your supper!!”

Spay and neuter these animals. Stop them from reproducing. Today’s society has enough fruit loops already.

End of story!

Shift shaft is replaced! Pretty easy other than dealing with design flaws from HD. You probably have two shift levers on your touring model. One referred to as a toe shifter and one called a heel lever. On my triglide the toe lever pinch screw indexes from the top
very easy to work on, and keep tight. Not so much on my heel shifter! The pinch screw indexes from the bottom, where you can't see squat, and there is only room for a very short leg Allen wrench. Come on, would it be that difficult to thread that one so the bolt indexes from the top? And how about using the same size pinch bolt on both levers? Rant over!
Getting the old bushing out was a bit tougher than it looked on videos. A light tap was not sufficient. Took some pretty good raps with a ball peen hammer. I was about to think I didn't have bushings when one finally came into view. I used some Brakekleen to swab the mounting tube clean. Then applied a liberal coat of some white lithium grease to serve as assembly l**e. Got the bushings seated using a special tool, they went together pretty easy. After seating the bushings I applied a good amount of some marine application bearing grease. With that all done I reattached all of the shift Linkage and levers, using loctite threadlocker on all of the bolts/screws . The shift shaft feels great now! I'm thinking I will find it easier to shift to neutral now!

I have parts! Let the work begin!

24/01/2024

Changing my shifter shaft bushings as soon as the parts arrive!. tried to order them from Harley Davidson but they dont offer them online!???? These items are less then $3.00 apiece. so i fou nd them somewhere else. They are being shipped from east coast area. They were really hard to find, mainly because HD doesnt know what to call them!. look up the part number and it tells you its a brake bushing?? Whew!! what a circle jerk!

Hey to all of you thinking about a ride tomorrow, I have given your name to the local mental health professional’s!

12/01/2024

Well I went outside and did a little snowblowing! I still get the shakes when I fire it up, remembering the day I was so viciously attacked! I didn’t ask her to stop in the street where I was plowing! I certainly didn’t ask her to roll her window down! It wasn’t a conscious decision on my part to fill the passenger compartment with wet blown snow! Ask the neighbor who witnessed my ordeal! The lady in that Tahoe was crazy and she knew a lot of cuss words! I know this as I heard her yell a bunch of them at me! and let me say this, she had a set of lungs! Marianne heard her yelling over passing traffic, and my snowblower! I think I may have been permanently damaged! Well I gotta go back outside and fire it up! Trust that I will have a eagle eye trained on my next victim

How do you say NO to those eyes!

A very sad day for our club today. We lost Dave Hardesty. He was a great riding partner and always ready to help out. We are thinking of his wife Carol and wishing her well. Rest In Peace Dave, may your road be smooth with lots of twisties!

Just back from the Rider of Washington toy run! This was our 43rd year for this event. We had a great turnout, and delivered a ton of toys to St Francis Cabrini. They were very glad to receive the toys. After delivery we retired to the VFW for the annual Chili Feed and potato bar. We had a successful silent auction, resulting in several hundred dollars in proceeds. The VFW was a great venue for the event. It is roomy, well lit and very welcoming. The food was great!! A big thank you to all of our members who showed up and made the event possible. At Super one foods an anonymous lady donated $200.00 in lieu of a toy! Thank you so much! To all of the motorcycle enthusiasts who showed up and helped make this event a overwhelming success, thank you so much!
