For those who have been thinking or dreaming about going to Sturgis Rally, yes...keep thinking and dreaming. That may be the best outcome for you, as if somehow you can make it there once, your life will change forever. You will have to work harder, so you can go back to Sturgis again..and again.
So, keep thinking and dreaming about Sturgis, as thinking and dreaming are free! 😤🤣

Note: 20 times for me, but I still don't see everything in Sturgis. Please feel bad for me. 🙏😊😭

After riding more than 45 years, crossing the country and Sturgis for 20 times, I have learned that the slower speed I ride, the more enjoyment I have. 😇😊
I can "smell" the flowers, the cow dung, the desert, the mountain, and many things along my ride..and the best part is, I can see almost everything around me. 😊🤣
I ride to enjoy, not to get there!

This is the poor guy's plans. 🤣
About my coming round trip (FL-CA-FL) across the country, I will have to decide which method that I will use.

Pulling my teardrop camper with my bike, or towing the bike with my diesel truck, plus a camper!?

As my rough calculations, based on the fuel, and campground cost, I would save about $1000 with the bike vs. the truck camper. I am talking about $3k vs. $4k. 😤

Those costs are just for fuel and accommodations. With the truck, I don't have to pay for hotel or campground, just fuel. With the teardrop, I will have to stay in campground, which I project about $100/day with food.
Of course, I haven't added Sturgis for 4 days.

Damn! When you're retired, old and poor, like me, it's always a hard decision. 😤🤣.but, too old to wait for...

West bound Route66 on July, 2022.
That's my plan to ride the Mother Road, again on the third time...but, I will pull a trailer this time, and do boondocking as much as possible.
I will start out from FL, stay in N. CA for a week, and heading back home via Sturgis Rally. Probably, 3-5 days in SD, then take it easy to get home.
I am retired, so there is no rush!

Hi all,
I have a few questions to all the guys and gals who have ridden to Alaska.
How many days are long enough to get to Artic Circle and seeing major POIs?
I know that if I want to carry, I need to bypass Canada, by taking the ferry. Is it easy and fair price to take the ferry?
I plan to pull a trailer with my motorcycle, so boondocking/camping is feasible, or campground is the way to go?
Any suggestions?

No surprise! This matter will be brought up soon or later..as it is so easy to create fear for controlling the people and attacking the opponents.
Only 16 cases are assuming related to Sturgis rally, and who knows how they come up with that number 16, and look at the title of the report.
What a misled report! 😤

Meade County, home to Sturgis, has had a more than 1,500 percent increase in cases in the past 14 days.

Hopefully, the add-on tarp will keep me alive from the heat on the upcoming trip.
It's 90s with high humidity in FL, but I know I will run into the 3 digit temp in the West.

I've been cruising around the country for many years. 17 times in Sturgis, not including this year, 2021. My trips mostly were a round trip from FL to CA, and back.
People are getting bored to ride the same road and route every year, but not me. As I have a problem, and I don't the intent to fix it.
My problem is, I've never paid attention to the locations, and remember the roads' names the route. I know my destinations, but how to get there, has been different many times.
Every year and every time I depart for the new trip, I have the same excitement and anxiety as the first time.
Yep! I love my problem. 😊🤔😜🤣

Well!
After many nights of thinking, I've decided I will tow the teardrop trailer across the country this year. I've realized that if I chicken out because of the distance and the heat, I will probably not be able to ride across the country again, ever.
Here I am! Preparing to head out in the next two weeks or so. From FL to UT, then CA, to see my dad and my family, Heading back to Strugis for few days, then home.
It would be a long ride, but my heart says, go for it, but the body says, nah! :)
F**k it! I am not that old any way, 65 is nothing.

This year, 2021, we will have a huge crowd in Sturgis.
Everything is booked solid, even campgrounds.
Still..there is a surprise for me. I asked to book an Rv spot for 4 days, and the only campground that had an available spot, had a 3 day spot. I took it, but they sent me a bill for 4 day spot. Lucky me!
Can't wait for the fun!🤣

So, due to my freaking old body, the original plan will be changed a bit. I will have to use my truck camper to tow my motorcycle around the country this year.
Sturgis has been booked. Only 3 days, as all campgrounds are full. Pricey, but you play you pay! 😤
Hopefully, next year will be better. Who knows?! 🙏
BTW. The plan to ride "The Loneliest Highway" is still in the plan. 🙏😇

This year, I've decided to remove my old custom teardrops from the storage for future journey. She needs a few touch-up, and modifications, but she is still in a good shape.
I hope she will serve me, as many years ago, to cross the country this year, including Sturgis.🤣
