January 18 – Fly from the USA and start your trip of a lifetime to South Africa.

January 19 – Arrival at Johannesburg International Airport. Transfer to hotel and get rested for a grand adventure!

africa66January 20 – Our day begins at the Lesedi Cultural Village, where we will be introduced to the diverse native tribes of South Africa. The discovery begins at the Ndebele village where the introduction to the cultural experience precedes a multi-media presentation on the history and origins of today’s rainbow nation. This is followed by a guided tour of the other four ethnic homesteads – the Zulu, Basotho, Xhosa and Pedi tribes will be represented. Tribal show is included. Following the cultural village, sit back and relax through the gorgeous Africa countryside as you transfer up to the Kruger Park Area. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel, enjoy dinner and get ready to safari! (B,D)

africa833January 21 – Breakfast at the hotel. Start the day with a beautiful panoramic tour including a view to God’s Window with its beautiful Waterfall. God’s Window majestic cliffs plunge over 1/2 mile to the Lowveld and the game reserves which have made the area one of Africa’s prime wildlife destinations. From this vantage point a 150 mile long rampart of sheer cliffs – opens a vista into a plush forest. On a clear day it is possible to see over the Kruger National Park towards the Lebombo Mountains on the border with Mozambique. This afternoon, get ready for your first safari experience on an afternoon/early evening game drive in Kruger Park. The animals are waiting! Dinner in the restaurant. Overnight HAZYVIEW, KRUGER PARK AREA (B,D)

January 22 – Full day Safari in 4 x 4 vehicles with a professional game ranger. Kruger National Park is one of the largest game reserves in Africa. The world-renowned Kruger National Park offers a wildlife experience that ranks with the best in Africa. It covers 7,332 sq mi and extends 220 mi from north to south and 37 mi from east to west. All the big five (lion, elephant, water buffalo, leopard, and rhino) are found here. Here we will experience the Africa that we have long dreamed of. Dinner and overnight SKUKUZA REST CAMP , Kruger National Park (B,D)

africa68January 23 – Another full day exploring Kruger with its birds, rhinos, impalas, wildebeest, leopards, hippos and so much more. Dinner and overnight SKUKUZA REST CAMP , Kruger National Park (B,D)

January 24 – After breakfast with the group, take a private transfer shuttle from Kruger National Park up to the Kapama Game Reserve. This special 5-star reserve is known for luxury, it’s award winning spa, and excellent game viewing. Upon arrival at Kapama, check-in to your luxurious accommodations and go out on a late afternoon and night time game drive. Private game reserves are special because the vehicles can go off of the designated roads and follow animals into the “bush.” Overnight at Kapama with a tasty dinner . (B,L,D)

africa76January 25 – Wake up and enjoy a snack before going out on an early morning game drive. You will see the animals as they conclude their nighttime hunting adventures. Mid-morning, come back to the camp and enjoy a tasty breakfast. Leisure time is yours to soak at the pool, take in the award-winning spa or go on a nature walk with a guide. Later this afternoon, you will go out on another game drive that concludes after dark. Come back to camp and enjoy a “boma” dinner next to the fire. All meals are included at the private game reserve. (B,L,D)

January 26 – Wake up to one more early morning game drive and breakfast before you check-out from your camp. A private transfer will take you back to Johannesburg for your evening flight back to the USA. (B)

The beauty of a river cruise is that the ship is small and intimate with only 98 guests and all of your food and most drinks on the ship are included! April 6 – Fly from your home city to Denver where you will board your international flight to Amsterdam!

europe78April 7 – Holland – Arrive in the stunning city of Amsterdam where you will be transferred to your hotel for free time and to overnight.

April 8 – Holland – Following breakfast, meet your local guide and start a full day guided tour of Amsterdam, including a canal cruise. See a traditional fishing village, explore old Amsterdam and have some free time for shopping. Following this tour, it is off to your river cruise boat. Passengers are welcome to board between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. After you’ve comfortably settled in your cabin, we’ll introduce our crew during our welcome party. We’ll dine on board this evening, and afterward you can join a canal boat tour of enchanting Amsterdam at night. You’ll discover the famous canals and understand why the city is named “Venice of the North”. (B, Cruise Meals)

europe79April 9 – Holland – This morning, enjoy your first buffet breakfast on board, followed by a guided visit of Amsterdam and a visit to a diamond merchant. The city has been a major diamond center since the late 16th century, and since then it has been known as the City of Diamonds. In the afternoon, take an excursion to Volendam and Zaanse Schans traditional village museum which includes more than a hundred wooden houses, mills and warehouses dating from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Enjoy a free evening tonight where you can go out and explore the city. Overnight stop. (Cruise Meals)

April 10 – Holland & Belgium – After breakfast, we’ll cruise toward Utrecht and arrive by midday. We’ll have lunch on board before spending the afternoon visiting the famous Keukenhof gardens. While we visit the gardens, the ship will cruise to Rotterdam, where we will join it late afternoon. We’ll have our gala dinner on board, followed by an evening of entertainment. Overnight stop. (Cruise Meals)

europe80April 11 – Belgium – We’ll begin our day with an early morning start cruising towards Antwerp. We’ll pass Dordrecht and enter the Hollands Diep — crossing though the Volkerak and Kreekak locks before arriving at the Dutch-Belgian border. Our cruise will continue to Antwerp, the second biggest harbor in the world after Rotterdam, where some of the world’s largest sea-going vessels are anchored. After enjoying dinner on board, feel free to discover the nightlife in Antwerp. Overnight stop. (Cruise Meals)

April 12 – Belgium – After breakfast, disembark the ship in Antwerp and transfer to fantastic Bruges, Belgium. This town is famous for medieval buildings, cobbled streets and canals. We’ll also find horse-drawn carriages in the city center. A guided half-day tour will show you this incredible place. Check in at your hotel and overnight in Bruges. (B)

April 13 – Belgium – After breakfast, transfer to Brussels, Belgium. Upon arrival meet your local guide and start a full day tour of Brussels with highlights including the beautiful parks and gardens in the city. Check in at hotel and overnight. (B)

europe81April 14 – Luxembourg – After breakfast, transfer to the tiny country of Luxembourg. On the way to Luxembourg stop and visit Vianden Castle and Beaufort Castle (Medieval + Renaissance). Upon arrival into Luxembourg meet your local guide and start a half day city tour. Check another country off of your list! Check in at hotel and overnight. (B)

April 15 – Germany – After breakfast, transfer to St. Goar from where you will take a ferry to the picturesque, quaint town of Ruedesheim. This scenic part of the Rhine River will transport you back to past days with quiet towns and small boats along a peaceful river. Pick up the bus from Ruedesheim and transfer to Frankfurt. Upon arrival meet your local guide and enjoy a sightseeing tour in this busy German city. Check in at the hotel and overnight. (B)

April 16 – Transfer to the airport for your flight back home.

cali36You are off to California this coming December and January to celebrate the New Year with host Barry Knight! Come get out of the cold and enjoy the world-famous Rose Parade in sunny California! You will also be able to explore the other fabulous sites of the scenic California coast on this fun and exciting tour.

Itinerary:

Monday, December 28th – Your tour begins with a morning flight from Salt Lake City to “the City by the Bay,” San Francisco. Also this morning you’ll have a great introduction to the city on your narrated San Francisco Bay cruise where you’ll cruise past Alcatraz and under the famous Golden Gate Bridge. Then, for a true local experience, you’ll enjoy a ride on the famed cable cars up and down the hills of the enchanting city of San Francisco on the nation’s only moving National Landmark. A relaxing afternoon drive will have you arriving in Monterey, California. For centuries, artists and poets, explorers and novelists have been drawn here, and it’s your good fortune to be able to discover Monterey. A delightful and tasty dinner is in store for you tonight on in Monterey. Hotel accommodations tonight will be at the marvelous Hilton Garden Inn. (dinner included)

cali33Tuesday, December 29th – Have your cameras ready as today is filled with majestic beauty around every corner. This morning you will say goodbye to Monterey and journey down the celebrated 17-Mile Drive past the iconic lone Cypress Tree, through the Del Monte Forest and on to the Pebble Beach Golf Course.
Then it’s on to Carmel by the Sea, which has been dubbed one of the “most romantic cities of the world” by Travel + Leisure magazine. Enjoy free time to explore Carmel’s galleries and cafes before we travel along the Big Sur Coast for a trip that will surely take your breath away. This section of California State Route 1, also known as the Pacific Coast Highway, is one of the world’s most scenic drives….exhilarating and dramatic, with picture-postcard ocean and coastal vistas that are astonishing. Whale watching is popular in this region at this time of the year as the gray whales are migrating south to a warmer climate to spend the winter months.
Overnight accommodations will be in the seaside community of Morro Bay. (breakfast & dinner included)

cali35Wednesday, December 30th – Upon your arrival in nearby San Simeon, you will visit one of the world’s greatest showplaces, the palatial mountaintop retreat of Hearst Castle, built by newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst. A guide will lead you through the property that took 28 years to complete with its 165 rooms and 127 acres of gardens, terraces, and pools.
This afternoon you’ll have a relaxing two hour drive to Solvang, where Denmark has been recreated with picturesque buildings and windmills. You’ll have time on your own to soak up the atmosphere in this charming village and browse the quaint shops featuring Danish imports and delightful bakeries filled with rich pastries. Comfortable hotel accommodations for the night will be at the nearby Marriott Hotel. (breakfast included)

Thursday, December 31st – This morning you’ll visit the “paradise on the Pacific,” otherwise known as Santa Barbara. A local guide from Santa Barbara will join you onboard the motor-coach and you’ll venture on to sights such as the iconic Mission Santa Barbara (the most photographed historic site in California), the County Courthouse, where you’ll stop to walk through this architectural masterpiece and enjoy a panoramic view of the city from atop the clock tower, and drive through the neighborhood of the rich and famous, Montecito. After a 90-minute drive you’ll find yourself in the Los Angeles area where you’ll enjoy a New Year’s Eve dinner party and settle into your hotel in preparation for New Year’s Day. Friday, January 1st – Happy New Year! The event you came for is about to begin. The eyes of the world turn to the 127th Annual Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena for a fabulous display filled with animated floats, precision marching bands and equestrian entries from around the globe. Today you’ll enjoy the parade from reserved grandstand bleacher seats along Colorado Boulevard for excellent parade viewing. Your seats will have unobstructed views in both directions and the sun will be to your back. We have secured reserved parking for our motor-coach, making it very convenient to get to and from your reserved seats. What a fun way to begin the New Year!
After the parade festivities your tour will start to wind down as we make time for lunch and report to the Los Angeles airport for your return flight. (breakfast included)
