This week marks the 123 birthday of Walt Disney, so let's learn a little about him!

Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the fourth of five children. At the age of 4, the family moved to Marceline, Missouri, which is famously known as the inspiration for Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

At the age of 11, the family moved to Kansas City, Missouri where they lived for 6 years before moving back to Chicago.

At the age of 17, Walt Disney forged his birth certificate to enlist in the Red Cross. He was sent to France after the armistice was signed and worked there for just under a year before returning home. Upon returning, he was an apprentice at Pesmen-Rubin Commercial Art Studio in Kansas City, where he met Ub Iwerks.
