A lovely new little book now in stock in the shop from Ballinrobe legend Averil Staunton. 📖

Pick up a copy of “A Short History of Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo” for just €8.95, it would make a beautiful gift. 📚

We’re all about supporting local at Murphy’s. 👏🏼

Congrats Averil. 🥂

Bowers Riverside Walk improvements with the conservation works to the riveted wrought-iron lattice footbridge near the salmon weir.

Essential bridge conservation works to the riveted wrought-iron lattice footbridge at Bowers Walk and a further footbridge upstream in Ballinrobe are now complete and open to the public from Wednesday 22nd December 2021.

Originally designed and fabricated in the mid-nineteenth century as part of the canalisation of the River Robe, the works have allowed for retention of 90% of this important historic asset.
