Be Specific.

Yesterday I had the following conversations with my daughters.

Me: I pray that money does not enter your dad's hand in Jesus name

Ist Daughter: Mummy , please be specific

2nd Daughter: Please tell her o.

I looked at them and was wondering why they asked me to be specific. Actually, I didn't want their dad to take them on a particular trip.

Suddenly, I knew why they were saying be specific , so I rephrased the prayers .

Me: Lord please don't let money enter their father's hand for this trip,.

They both said Amen!!!

They told me that money needs to enter father's hand, cause he needs to buy some things for them. I started laughing and I remembered the conversation I had with the Holy Spirit three years ago when I lost my Dad, and that conversation changed my way of praying. I became more specific with God. I stopped generalizing prayers..

The Day I lost my Dad to death three years ago, I was holding my book, where I write prayer point. one of my prayer points then was Lord heal my father and send him home. So I asked the Holy Spirit, why didn't you heal my dad and send him home and the reply was that I have taken him home

Haaaa, Lord that was not what I meant, I meant you should heal him so that he can go home.

Since then , I learnt to pray specific prayers not generalizing. If I have to get someone off my mind, I would call the person's name and narrate what the person has done to me, and I get relief almost immediately..

I told my children about the conversation I had with the Holy Spirit and taught them to say it as it is to God. Like Lord heal me from this stomach pain instead of Lord heal me.

It's not that God doesn't know what you are saying or what you want. He chooses to answer or not to answer but I liked be specific with him so I could have conversations with him at any time and anywhere.

Just thought to share.

There were times we lost our self worth and value.
There were times we were confused about our identity as a woman,a wife and a mother.
There were times we were body shamed.
There were times our mistakes and errors were used to judge us.

But we are still standing as women, strong and resilient, fearless, bold and audacious.

Intuition

There is this thing about us women, we just know something instinctively even though we are. not yet conscious of it..

But some of us refuse to face and acknowledge it.

Yesterday, I had a conversation with a Bolt driver that I booked to carry me and my children home from my sister's place.

My eldest daughter cooked noodles at my sister's place and because the ride was already booked, they couldn't eat it, so they ate it in the car.

The Driver just kept telling them to be careful not to spill food on the seat or floor of the car because some passengers can send a mail to Bolt if they discover his car is dirty .

He heard me mention one of my daughter's name and he asked if I was married to a Yoruba man and I said yes.

He said hope my husband is ok cause Yoruba people are terrible . I didn't answer him.

He started telling me his elder's sister story of how she almost committed su***de because she found out that she was the second wife to her husband and the husband even has a third wife.

Life inside life.

He told me the sister did not know at all and the man just kept taking money from her and using it for his other wives.

He said his brother in law was always travelling lying that he is going to visit his Mum at Ibadan or that the mum or dad is sick and sometimes he is going for burial at the village and he would make sure someone calls her to confirm what he was saying.

The so called brother inlaw was always coming up with one story or the other, and the wife just kept giving him money.

She really spent money on the husband.

At that moment, I saw reasons why she wanted to commit su***de. The so called husband even made her buy a car and he gave it to the third wife after telling lies.

She got know the true nature of her husband when his Mother died. They went for burial and she discovered that she was not the only wife but second wife and there was also a third.

Most times we feel condemned because of our past actions and mistakes and the enemy is always there to remind us to make us feel guilty.

With such condemnation we feel burdened with guilt.

My advice this morning is, the past is past. Bring the guilt, thoughts burdens to Jesus and let his Life be in you.

There is a saying that when two Elephants fight, the ground, grass suffers.

This is true when it comes to husband and wife always fighting and abusing each other in the presence of their children.

It pains me when I hear couples fight, and it leads to domestic violence. Take it from me, the children are worse hit. Hmmmm

I told a friend sometime ago when she was having issues with her husband , I told her the devil no get time for una, na your children he dey target seriously.

And that's the truth, Satan never likes seeing a Happy home. When he sees happiness in a home, he fights that home seriously by causing disagreements, conflicts between couples, unresolvable issues that would lead to domestic violence.

We need wisdom to handle our homes and marriages and stop using I no go gree for inside marriage.

Children are really worse hit, we might not see or perceive the consequences of our actions but I tell you, there are consequences.

On the 19th of December 2023, I decided to create a Thanksgiving list to tell my Father in Heaven thank you.

There is a song that says count your blessings, name them one by one and see what the Lord has done.

I did that , and I saw every reason to thank the Lord for mercies and his goodness towards me and my family.

Towards the end of 2023, I had every reason not to thank the Lord because of certain things I was expecting him to do and I thought he had failed me.

This action of being ungrateful almost pushed me into depression. I lost interest in certain things.

But the Lord through his Spirit told me to guard my heart. Proverbs 4:23.

This word alone brought me healing and deliverance.

A lot of lessons where learnt and I am grateful his his mercies.

This year I decided to thank him ahead of the year and by so doing, I created a Thanksgiving list, counting my blessings ahead to see his goodness and faithfulness.

We have every reason to say thank you. What you get freely, some people are finding it difficult to get.

Like Jeremiah said Out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and a voice that makes Merry

I am saying Out of me shall proceed Thanksgiving and my voice shall make merry this year.

Join me in thanking God for this year 2024.

This thought crossed my mind today and I dwelt on it and my mind went to expectant mothers, women looking for the fruit of the womb.

And the thought that crossed my mind again was that, a woman looking for the fruit of the womb, would she have any choice to choose between a boy or girl.

A lot of women put themselves under pressure looking for one s*x or the other and because of pressures too from society and family.

I know we desire as humans to have both male and female, but why pressure yourself if na only boys God give you or na only girls abeg accept am.

He knows why he gave you particular s*x.

Like I said na because you get , that's why you dey ask for a particular s*x and putting yourself under pressure and allowing people pressure you.
