no fat burners, no sugar or carb restrictions, no supplements, no filter. just me. going to bed satisfied after a day of hard workouts, eating for fuel and choosing to be the best version of me I can be. The other day I shared my "why" with a few ladies at the gym during my class, to get them to find their why. My "why" is control. I have control of when I workout, how hard I lift, how many reps I push myself to get (or don't), what I put in my mouth and when I choose to start or stop. I have no one to blame but MYSELF for a sh***y workout, but I fully take the blame when I kick my own ass. When things in the moment don't seem in my control, I know I have the gym, my drive, and my attitude to keep me going. I challenged my clients to dig deeper than "looking good for ###x". Be honest - you look at your naked self in the mirror after the shower and you don't like what you see. Trainers/professionals can't make you go to the gym, and they can't directly motivate you, motivation 112% comes from WITHIN. Dig deep, unravel your "why". Go to the gym for YOU. Use your trainers as resources to help you be the best version of you.

Throw back to training one of my most disciplined, committed and hard working clients, Margaret Powell! Margaret over came many obstacles including a broken back, MS, CP and relying on a cane to walk. Margaret is a true example of throwing aside all excuses to give up and going for gold. I enjoyed every day trying to find new ways to challenge Margaret in the gym. Miss Margaret went from depending on a cane to pulling weight without one!!! TRUE INSPIRATION!!!
