In the end of his life, in Vicenza, Palladio had the possibility to realize a particular villa, different from others that had made him famous: the Rotonda was an opportunity.
He saw the great theatre of the nature: a ring of hills surrounding a podium and was inspired…the design reflected the humanist values of Renaissance architecture. Building began in 1567 for Paolo Almerico.
