Dear CCC members and Clifton Neighbors,
The CCC is committed to being good bike ambassadors and in giving back to the local community where we ride. We do this through being respectful of local motorists and pedestrians, through our bi-annual adopt-a-highway cleanup, and by frequenting local Clifton businesses like Trattoria Villagio after our Thursday night rides, and the Main St Pub for breakfast after our Saturday rides.
As you may have expected Clifton businesses have been hit hard by the COVID19 pandemic. Just this week, Villagio had to lay off almost the entire staff. The other restaurants are probably having just as difficult time. These will be difficult times for our close friends who work in these establishments.
In the spirit of the CCC serving the local community, we are fundraising to help out Kenny and Patrick, our servers at Villagio who have been great hosts to us for a number of years, and more importantly, great friends to the CCC.
In the CCC spirit of "doing hard things," CCC members Jason Davidson and Andrew Schaaf are also going to run 40 miles along the Bull Run trail tomorrow (3/22) to raise awareness of the hardships the local businesses in Clifton are experiencing.
Please consider making a donation to help out those people that make Clifton such a wonderful place to visit. You can donate via PayPal to [email protected]. Please donate by 3/31.
Also, please consider getting carry out at Villagio, Trummers or the Clifton Cafe. They are a big part of why Clifton is such a nice community and they could use the business!
Jason and Andrew will begin their run starting the run in town at 0800 tomorrow (3/22). They will run to Hemlock Overlook then on the blue trail northwest along the to Bull Run park in Manassas and return to Hemlock. From there they will run to Fountain Head Regional Park and back to the town of Clifton. They are looking to enjoy a few beers when they finish around 4 pm.
Regards,
