INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION - ALUMNI NEWS

Bridge House alumni Justin Huxter (Matric 2002) has been named on the Condé Nast Traveler's Top Travel Specialist list for 2024.

This comes after Huxter's travel agency, Cartology Travel, was also named Luxury Travel Homeworking Business of the Year (Small) for the second year running at the TTG Awards ceremony in London earlier this year.

These are remarkable achievements. Congratulations, Justin.

It is wonderful to see how the humble beginnings of a Bridge House education provided the foundation for individuals like Justin to pursue their passions.

Having travelled to 95 countries (and counting), Katherine AKA has extensive travel experience and a passion to explore the world. 🌎

She grew up in southern Oregon, and has lived in New Orleans, San Francisco, Seattle, and New York City, which she now calls home!

“Many people think of a safari as a once-in-a-lifetime experience. And you absolutely should go at least once, but realize it may become the start of an obsession! There is nothing quite like the travel experience of being on safari, traversing the vast nature of the bush and encountering animals going about their wild, sometimes brutal lives. Then there's the fantastic hospitality, knowledgeable guides, excellent food, awe-inspiring sundowner set ups... a safari is not an experience for the faint-hearted, but you will feel so well taken care of and you will remember it forever.”

✨ Which country or continent would you always advise to REvisit?

“Italy! It's such a crowd-pleaser and there are many different regions to explore, offering a variety of experiences (food & wine, hiking, cycling, skiing, history, art, culture, beach, boating)…”

✨ What's your favourite honeymoon recommendation?

“Honeymoons aren't one size fits all! I've planned honeymoons in Costa Rica, Italy, Argentina, Vietnam, Portugal, East Africa... regardless of the destination I love to plan a balance of fun activities that allow couples to have new, memorable experiences together while also providing plenty of downtime for relaxation.”

Three incredible  destinations… and the best months to explore them 🌎

🐘 Zambia

Still relatively unknown in terms of safari but it offers incredible wildlife viewing, lots of opportunities for walking safaris, with a great selection of intimate luxury game lodges.

📆 Best months: Late May - late October to avoid heavy rains.

🏔 The Dolomites 

A much less-visited region of Italy - pristine nature, delicious food, amazing wines.

📆 Best months: Shoulder seasons of Spring and Autumn (however, winter has wonderful skiing and summer is perfect for warm hikes).

🌊 Vietnam 

Incredible beaches, luxury hotels, and a varied and deep history.

📆 Best months: Avoid the rainy season in summer. Stick to November - April.

A firm favourite for dreamy Indian Ocean holidays, we love the luxury hotel properties on this island, such as the and the .
