ADVISORY: Fake Jobs and Services on Social Media

Filipinos seeking employment in the United Arab Emirates are warned against the proliferation of fake jobs and services advertised on social media sites.

According to the Philippine Overseas Labor Office - Dubai, there are various posts/advertisements circulating on social media offering “employment opportunities” and “Job Order/Manpower requests” purportedly from legitimate businesses in the UAE and elsewhere in the Middle East as well as licensed recruitment agencies in the Philippines, and even POLO Dubai.

POLO Dubai warns jobseekers that these posts are not approved by the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA) and that these accounts are operated by scammers and unscrupulous individuals/groups, and that said job portals indicated in the said social media posts are illegal.

To ensure the protection of the jobseekers from fraudulent entities and illegal recruitment, POLO Dubai strongly urges the public to use the POEA Verification System at the POEA website
(www.poea.gov.ph) or email the POEA Information Center at [email protected] to confirm legitimate
overseas employment offers.

Moreover, POLO Dubai urges the public to immediately report any suspicious recruitment activities
