The entire staff at Gay Vegas is still in mourning along with the rest of our city for the many innocent lives lost at the tragic Route 91 shooting, including LGBTQ community members Cameron Robinson and Erick Silva.
Our city has received an outpouring of support, concern and love from people from all over the world. This November issue is dedicated to the victims of the tragedy.
Along with its distribution all over the Las Vegas Valley, additional copies of Gay Vegas magazine are printed and distributed at the beginning of each month to the concierge of every major hotel and casino in Las Vegas, including the property involved in the incident, the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino.
Without question, those involved in the everyday logistics of Gay Vegas magazine are going through the same feelings and emotions as the rest of our local community. Gay Vegas has continued to operate throughout this tragedy knowing the importance of setting a Vegas Strong example for our LGBTQ community as we continue to live each day as “No Day But Today.”
For many in our LGBTQ community, this is an especially sensitive incident, having occurred only a few months after the Pulse Orlando shooting one year anniversary. Our hearts and thoughts are with everyone that has been affected by the incident.
Our Come Out Vegas event, sponsors and advertisers helped Gay Vegas raise $10,000 for non-profit organizations such as the Gay & Le***an Community Center of Southern Nevada, the Direct Impact Fund for victims and their families organized by Zappos.com, the First Friday Foundation and for victims’ families involved in the October 1st tragedy.
We ask that each person does what they can to help the loved ones and families of the victims who lost their lives or were injured as a result of this senseless act of violence in our community. LGBTQ ally Zappos.com will match every donation made to the Direct Impact Fund at Zappos.com/support up to $1 million. We thank you for every little bit you can give.
