This update was in a newsletter I received from France yesterday. But two weeks ago a supplier warned us the rules were changing and had arranged for our clients’ vaccine cards to be converted to the EU pass through a pharmacy in Paris.‼️

Last week another France partner sent the link to apply for a COVID certificate online, which is referenced in this email.🎉

With changes happening so fast around the world, these relationships are priceless. Instead of wasting time scouring the internet for accurate and up to date information, I am able to advise clients quickly so their travel plans are not disrupted. 🛫

It’s hard to imagine planning a trip to any destination that has strict entry requirements and Covid protocols without having contacts (and colleagues) there who are sharing information real time.🙏🏻

Though the process to get to Tahiti requires a lot of attention to detail and some very specific paperwork, it’s well worth it in the end. I’m so happy to see my clients enjoying the start of their anniversary celebration.🥂❤️

To be frank, I don’t know how we could have made this happen so smoothly without utilizing my personal contacts at the resorts, at Tahiti Tourism, and the airlines who answered questions that came up as we navigated the new requirements. I even had to call the Tahiti High Commission at one point!☎️

For my birthday weekend I wanted to be as close to the beach as possible. Though I come to this beach regularly, I have not stayed at Monterey Tides since 2005. If you want a location where you can walk on a wide beach or bike an oceanfront trail for miles, this is it.

I’ll be frank, it’s not the Ritz Carlton. But the hospitality is authentic, the bar is cute with amazing views, and it’s super pet-friendly. I’ll check out the food tomorrow.

Do not laminate your vaccination card! We are hearing that potentially airlines, cruise lines and other suppliers may not accept them if laminated.

We are early in the learning curve on this, so don’t do anything permanent with your documentation. I recommend a clear waterproof bag if you want to keep it safe for now.

- All inbound passengers, regardless of citizenship status, must get tested no more than 3 days before their flight to the U.S. departs. The test must be a viral test (NAAT or antigen test).
- If the passenger tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 3 months, she does not have get tested again but can travel instead with documentation of her positive viral test results and a letter from her healthcare provider or a public health official that states she has been cleared for travel.
- It is the responsibility of the airline to confirm a COVID-19 negative test result or documentation of recovery for all passengers before boarding, and to deny boarding if such is not presented. Passengers must also fill out a CDC attestation form.
- The test result must be in the form of written documentation (paper or electronic copy) of a laboratory test, and must include information that identifies the person, a specimen collection date and the type of test administered, as well as verification information, such as the name and contact information for the laboratory that performed the test.
- Upon arrival in the U.S. CDC recommends, but doesn’t require, that travelers get retested 3-5 days after travel AND stay home or otherwise self-quarantine for 7 days after travel. Note that your state may have more stringent requirements for returning travelers
- Importantly, the order allows CDC to grant waivers based on CDC’s determination that a foreign country lacks available COVID-19 testing capacity.
As the CDC releases more information, including which countries will be eligible for waivers, we will inform all of our travelers.
