Come and see ruins of Furness Abbey! You won't be disappointed!
The abbey dates back to 1123 and was once the second-wealthiest and most powerful Cistercian monastery until dissolution in 1537.
There is a really strong sense of history in a quiet setting. It has the most wonderful location, very peaceful and tranquil.
Our Barn is only 2 miles from Furness Abbey.

This beautifully-presented 1 bedroom cottage is in the market town of Dalton-in-Furness close to the tower and cobbled square, church and elegant houses. Very well positioned cottage for trips around the Lake District. The Barn has a cosy yet elegant feel.The kitchen is contemporary, stylish and well-equipped.
Just a mile away is the South Lakes Wild Animal Park and the town is well served by the railway station which can enable you to travel easily to explore the west coast to Barrow or in a southerly direction to Grange-over-Sands for example. Ulverston which is just 4 miles away .A short drive away you also have the stunning Morecambe Bay estuary with walking, cycling and superb wildlife.
