January 6th marks L'Epifania in Italy, the day when the holiday season officially comes to a close, but not without a final touch of magic. ✨ According to tradition, La Befana, the kind-hearted ‘good witch,’ flies from house to house on her broomstick, leaving sweets for the good kids and carbone (coal, the sugary kind!) for those who’ve been a little naughty. 🧹🍬
It’s a day of joy, folklore, and community. In towns across Italy, you’ll find festive markets, colorful parades, and gatherings to celebrate this cherished tradition that combines faith and legend. 🎉
For Italians, L'Epifania is not just the end of the holidays, it’s a reminder of the warmth, generosity, and wonder that make this season so special. ❤️
Have you ever celebrated La Befana or experienced the magic of January 6th in Italy? 🇮🇹✨ Tell us your favorite holiday tradition!

This is a lovely poem that one of our travelers wrote for our amazing Journey Director, enjoy!
@Ilaria Gentiluomo Ilaria Gentiluomo
The greatest guide we all know with Nada
Was the sweetest Italian named Ilaria
She was with us for miles
Through Amalfi, always smiles
And she says “please just call me Lala”.
Lala does tours in English, not Greek.
Told us we were her best group “this week”.
She had to learn everyone’s name
Our backgrounds weren’t the same
Positano steps? - not for the weak.
This isn’t Spain, it’s not Cortes.
It’s Italy, pack food on donkeys, not horses.
Ponte or Positano
Sorrento or Ravello
The meals always had four courses.
With Italian words you must accentuate
Even short words their accent is great
Whether poor or rich
Don’t say beach, say bitch
Andiamo (“an-Dee-amo”), is let’s go, don’t be late
If you don’t want to go incognito
Start a meal, with “buon appetito”
While Ciao is normal
Arreviderci is formal
Meal is done be sure to scarpetto
And remember if it’s parmigiano you wish
Please put it on pasta, not seafood or fish!
The group always felt fine
Especially after the wine.
Which, of course, goes with every dish.
Positano had fireworks in the eve.
Our group had two Denise’s and two guys named Steve.
Bob, Vince, Valerie, Kenny
And Lisa and Patty.
And without Julio, no one could leave.
Joyous occasions made us feel fine.
Birthday celebrations - two times.
Valerie on Monday
Bob on Wednesday
Their ages totaled 129.
Lala’s shadow from Sicily is Sal
The Sicilian Strait - it’s the largest canal
So with our group complete
And after we eat
A toast FROM me and Denise, my gal.
It is “Good health” to you Lala
Together we say grazie (“GRAT-zi-Aaay”)
Look at my eyes, say cin cin (“chin chin”)
This tour was a real win.
And we toast to Lala - “Saluda” (salute)
Every season is a good season to visit Italy! 🍁🍂

Our Story
Passionate Ambassador of the Italian art of “living in the moment”. Travel renegade. Avid learner. Italian food & wine lover. Total advocate of the American Dream.
Born and raised in Florence (Tuscany), Italy, at 22 years of age, Nada Vergili relocated to the USA in 2001 with nothing but a suitcase and a heart full of hope, after falling in love with her amore, a young Italian-American from NY State whom she married soon after. It seemed like a relatively easy and natural choice, since she already spoke fluent English and was familiar with the American culture, having spent a few years in Florida with her family when she was a child.
Moving back to the states to find her passion in a career, she noticed an immense fascination towards Italy and the Italian culture in the eyes of all the people she would meet in the beautiful city of Charlotte, NC.
“People would ask me why Italians seem to enjoy life so much. I didn’t know what to tell them. All I knew were the everyday experiences I had growing up in Italy, the way we live, the way we eat, spending time with our families, and our attitude towards life. So I simply started to share those.”
This is when Nada’s true love story began: the one with her own country. As distance makes the heart grow fonder, Nada began to rediscover her own relationship with Italy, and learned to appreciate it more than she ever did before. Determined to turn her past disappointments and struggles into a positive outcome, she embarked on a personal journey to find out what it truly means to live la dolce vita, the sweet life, as Italians call the genuine appreciation for the simple pleasures in life such as good food, family traditions, and good company.
Got Italy on your mind? Don't let another year go by, let's make it happen!! Andiamo! Our small group tours are fully escorted, all-inclusive experiences that connect you with the true Italian lifestyle! Whether you're just starting out or have a finalized itinerary and want to make sure everything goes smoothly, Nada's Italy experts can provide as little or as much assistance as you need. In as little as one hour we'll go over your questions, discuss a customized itinerary, hotel recommendations, logistics and timing, and most importantly, peace of mind.
“What I enjoy mostly about my business is touching that little part in people’s hearts reminding them that they can enjoy life no matter where they are by not sacrificing the little pleasures that each day can offer, may it be cuddling with your dog, preparing dinner with a friend, or even just appreciating a compliment from a stranger. It is my desire to pass on this message not just to my clients, but all those in my life. “Living Italian” means enjoying everything from the complex to the mundane tasks. It means having passion. Passion in everything you do. As with art and sculpture, in music, so in daily life. It means spending our precious time with those who matter to us.” - Nada Vergili
