Engineers Without Borders at UCLA-Ethiopia Library Project Since the inception of this project in Fall 2015, EWB UCLA-Ethiopia team has been working to design

The Engineers without Borders student chapter at UCLA is an active humanitarian engineering group that is strongly involved in several international projects in various developing countries. Our vision is to help underdeveloped communities by engineering unique solutions for our communities' most pressing needs. We collaborate with local partners to design and implement sustainable engineering pro

jects while creating transformative experiences and responsible leaders. Our project in Ethiopia strives to provide the necessary tools for students to enjoy and nurture their education. By building a library near the school and furnishing it, we hope to provide not only a space for students to learn, but a place for all community members to grow their knowledge. This project will not only give meaningful experience to aspiring engineers of UCLA, but will more importantly make a lasting impact in the community of Sm’echa-Zala, Ethiopia.
