June, July, and August in the Galapagos 🐢
These months mark the start of the cooler, dry season, bringing an explosion of marine life and comfortable temperatures for exploring both land and sea! 🌊
Thanks to the nutrient-rich Humboldt Current, the ocean comes alive with schools of fish and marine life. Keep your eyes peeled for whales and dolphins, frequently spotted during these months! 🐬🐋
It’s nesting season! Blue-footed bo***es, flightless cormorants, and frigatebirds put on spectacular courtship displays. Plus, giant tortoises begin their migration to lower elevations in search of food.
Galapagos penguins move toward the central islands, making this the best time to spot them. Playful sea lion pups make their debut on the beaches, and migratory birds like the Galapagos hawk and American flamingo are at their most active. 🐧🦭
Weather & Conditions: Expect pleasant daytime temps of 66-79°F (19-26°C) with cooler ocean waters (70-75°F / 21-24°C)—perfect for snorkeling!
The southeast trade winds bring slightly stronger currents, making this an exciting season for adventurers.
With fewer visitors in the islands, Summer is your chance to experience the Galapagos in a more exclusive and intimate way. 🙌🏼
