My day at @flibsofficial started shooting a @forbes YouTube video in the hot tub on board the 50 meter @heesenyachts ELA in the Superyacht Village and then after a smooth tender ride to the Bahia Mar venue thanks to the amazing @m.a.wash from the amazing @piersixtysix @piersixtysixresidences finished after a rewarding day being a Best of Show judge with legends..Leslie Visser, @ojmcduffie , @rickycarmichael and @atoboldon . And that got me thinking. Since I really do want to share the love and I’m soooo grateful for the things get to do, and the people I get to meet. I’d love to figure out how I can bring some of you with me. Should we maybe hold some kinda contest where the winners get to come on one of my amazing adventures with me and then help me tell the story in cool, new, fun ways? What do you think? I’m gonna share a secret from today. This morning, after waking up from a fitful nights sleep where I was tormented by all sorts of torments. I decided that today was going to be “Act like a British Rockstar Day.” Now, I can’t tell you what compelled me to crank up the @robbiewilliams and chase my 12-year-old son around the house singing “Let Meeeeeeee Entertain You” before breakfast. But that really doesn’t matter. Both he and I have been struggling with different brands of real-life challenges these days. And I wanted him to know it’s ok to struggle. It’s ok. And it’s gonna be ok. There is NO SHAME in struggling!! In fact, on “Act Like A British Rockstar Day” we not only can face the challenges we all have with courage and grace. We can actually overcome them with all the style, humor, joy, and compassion of a true British Rockstar that has seen enough pain to know the power of empathy and gratitude in addition to all the trappings of rockstarness. Or least we can enjoy a short yet welcome respite from the struggle. And you can to! I’m on my way home, but I’m still buzzing from my latest trip with @ferrettigroup to test sail the new Wallywind 110 by @wallyyachts_official and watch the @americacup in person (on the water) for a whole bunch of reasons. First off, the people. Of course I’m incredibly grateful to be able to experience these yachts that are marvels of craftsmanship, engineering and sheer beauty firsthand. But being able to experience the pinnacle of luxury, innovation and yes, the exclusivity of the superyacht world with such a fantastic group of kind, talented, intelligent, interesting, hard-working people is one of the most meaningful aspects of what I’ve come to appreciate as the best job in the world. Add to that, being able to sail with people like, Luca Bassani, @wallyyachts_official founder and genius designer who is undoubtedly one of the most influential yacht designers in the world aboard his latest creation—the Wallywind 110–makes it almost impossible to describe just how cool it is. But, I think this little clip shot by my friend @enricosgarbi from yesterday’s sail can can give you a little taste. I love it because it shows how happy and contented sailing on a beautifully designed, exquisitely built 110-foot long all carbon fiber performance cruising boat with a fantastic group of people can make you feel. And it’s yet another example of just how powerful, healing, and meaningful the “yachting lifestyle” really is, because I wasn’t the only person who was simply enjoying the ride at that time. We all were! Thank you all! And this is just the beginning my friends.
