Our hearts break for communities affected by the recent severe weather outbreak. It has brought to light the importance of taking proactive measures to ensure safety. There are some misconceptions about storm chasing tours. Although we cannot speak for ALL tours, our storm chasing tours are designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to navigate severe weather situations. We are not out there cheering the destruction. We are reporting what we are seeing to local weather services, which aids in getting accurate warnings out to the community and teaching our guests how to do the same.

With continuous updates throughout the day, from morning weather briefings over coffee, to radar checks in gas station parking lots, here is what you will learn with Twisted Sky Tours:

The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) issues outlooks that combine data from various weather models to forecast potential severe weather events. These outlooks can help you prepare in advance for severe weather that may impact your region.

Here's an example of a severe weather outlook issued by the SPC on March 14, 2025, compared to the event reports.

Remember:
Take Outlooks Seriously: Severe weather outlooks provide valuable information, but it's essential to monitor local weather updates closely on the day of potential severe weather events.
No Surprises: With readily available tools and resources, being "caught off guard" by severe weather is avoidable.

WEATHER ALERT for FRIDAY 3/14 and SATURDAY 3/15: Please remain weather aware if you are in these areas. Especially as it moves through overnight!
Tonight from NWS: "A regional outbreak of severe thunderstorms is likely this afternoon through tonight across parts of the Lower/Mid Mississippi Valley and portions of the Lower Ohio Valley and Mid-South. Numerous tornadoes, several of which could be strong to intense, widespread severe gusts ranging from 60 to 100 mph, and scattered large hail up to baseball size all appear likely."

SATURDAY from NWS: "A tornado outbreak is likely on Saturday across the central Gulf Coast States and Deep South into the Tennessee Valley. Numerous significant tornadoes, some of which should be long-track and potentially violent, are expected on Saturday afternoon and evening. The most dangerous tornado threat should begin across eastern Louisiana and Mississippi during the late morning to afternoon, spread across Alabama late day into the evening, and reach western parts of the Florida Panhandle and Georgia Saturday night."

🌪⛈❄ A powerful low pressure system is set to create a dangerous combination of severe weather across the central plains this Friday!
Here's what you need to know:
Blizzard Warnings possible: West and northwest of the front, heavy snowfall and strong winds could lead to blizzard conditions, making travel extremely dangerous.
Severe Weather possible: East of the front, there is a high risk of severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes.
High Winds: South of this front. This can increase fire risks and limit visablity with blowing dust.

Affected Areas: This system will impact a large swath of the country, from Louisiana all the way up to the Dakotas.

If you live in any of these areas, please take the following precautions:

Stay informed: Monitor local weather alerts and advisories closely.

Have a plan: Know where to go in case of severe weather.

Be prepared: Make sure your family has a severe weather plan.
