In a class size of no more than 4 children to 1 swim instructor, children master the skills they need to be safe and confident in the water. Beginning as early as 4 months, children progress through a series of perpetual swimming lessons, graduating to higher levels of difficulty as swimming skills are mastered. Did you know that our swim lessons incorporate sensory play? 💫
Sensory play has been shown to help build fine and gross motor skills and improve sensory awareness, language development, cognitive growth, and more. While all of our swim lesson levels utilize sensory elements, our Mini Lessons (swim lessons for children ages 4 to 35 months old) were specifically designed around a sensory play curriculum.
When it comes to flotation devices and swimming tools, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed or confused by all the different options. We're here to help! 😉
Personal flotation devices (PFD) are a critical layer of drowning protection, but how do you know if your kiddo’s floatie is an approved life-saving device? We put together these informational assets to help you take out the guesswork! While things like kickboards, barbells, and flippers can all be beneficial swim aids, the other tools shown are ones we don't encourage using.
If you still have questions or want us to go into a particular swim aid a bit more just let us know! Remember, when in doubt when it comes to PFDs always choose a Coast Guard-approved life jacket. 😊

There are a lot of statistics around water safety and drowning prevention, but one that we always come back to is this -- Enrolling your children in formal swim lessons can reduce the risk of drowning by up to 88%.
This statistic came out of a study conducted by America's National Institute of Health, and it reminds us just how powerful swim lessons are as a layer of protection and prevention against drowning. We understand how scary it is to think about drowning, but as it continues to be the leading cause of injury-related death for children ages 1-4 we must do everything we can to be water safety aware.

New report from the CDC says drowning is on the rise
A new report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) revealed that drowning is on the rise. Children aged 1-4 are already among one of the highest-risk groups, and this group saw a 30% increase.
We're on a mission to increase water safety awareness all year long but especially during #WaterSafetyMonth through increased awareness and proactive action we know that together we can all play a role in reducing the risk of drowning.
This month, we're encouraging families to take the Safer Swimmer Pledge to help remind them of the top 5 water safety must-knows, to keep water safety top of mind all summer long (and beyond).
