I don't understand why...
.. the best things in life are free: therapeutic nature; movement, sleep, and nourishment that enable good health; loving support from our inner social circle; company, conversation, and entertainment from those we choose to spend quality time with...
.. and yet we have a tendency to ignore them all and spend money to buy things from smartphone apps and online stores that can lower our stress levels, and improve our physical health, and win the approval of strangers, and keep loneliness at bay.

And what if we spent our money instead on life-changing experiences that can give us more of the things that are already free? Experiences like: self-education courses, travel, charitable drives & donations, and extracurricular activities.

Wouldn't the world, and our own lives, be better for it?

Follow me away on a road trip through the Québec region of La Mauricie. La Mauricie is the ancestral and unceded territory of the
Nitaskinan (Atikamekw/Nehirowisi Aski) and
Wendake-Nionwentsïo First Nations. This land is covered by the Huron-Britannique treaty of 1760, which did not deal with the surrender of lands (https://www.rcaanc-cirnac.gc.ca/eng/1361456241366/1581293495454).

My destination is Parc national de la Mauricie (La Mauricie National Park), which is 1 of 3 national parks in the French Canadian province of Québec.

I'll be leading you through some of the sights and sounds and activities available at this beautiful park over the next few weeks, so give my page a follow and turn on your notifications to stay in touch and plugged into everything happening on my road trip here.

Big shout-out to the good folk at and .canada - and - for the Discovery Pass that inspired this trip. The discovery pass is a 12-month pass giving unlimited access to all Parks Canada-administered sites (national parks, national historic sites, national marine conservation areas, and national historic canals and waterways) across Canada.
