IMPORTANT CUSTOMER UPDATE - proposed change to 5-day opening 📣

Phoenix is a charity that has been at the heart of Leicester's cultural scene for 60 years.

Since 2020, we've faced one challenge after another - the pandemic, rising operating costs, dwindling public funding and the cost of living crisis have all impacted our financial stability with this deepening in April due to changes to Employers' National Insurance contributions and the loss of a significant grant.

After opening our award-winning extension (just over 2 years ago), we found ourselves covered in scaffolding due to council-led work. Despite this, our wonderful venue presents us with opportunities for future growth that should enable us to become more financially resilient in the long term.

However we face immediate financial challenges that we must address. We have worked hard to grow audiences, develop new income streams and cut costs wherever possible, but sadly these measures are not enough.

Therefore, we're considering no longer opening 7 days a week, and instead are proposing to open 5 days a week (Thursday to Monday) from April.

We will continue to offer a full, vibrant programme of cinema, art and learning opportunities, with our Café Bar open as usual within our new opening times.

It's essential that we reduce costs so we can rebuild our funds, improve our financial stability and secure Phoenix's future.

We recognise that this proposal impacts our lovely customers who attend on Tuesdays and Wednesday plus some groups who meet regularly - we will be contacting these groups separately.

This is an incredibly unsettling time for all Phoenix staff so please be patient and kind with our team when you next visit us.

Your Festive Feast and Crafts Market takes place in Market Place, Hinckley this Sunday 15th from 10am - 4pm. With over 45 vendors, Fosse 107, entertainment by Richie Phillips and a stilt-walking Santa 🎄
Many town centre businesses are open and parking is FREE in all town centre council car parks on Sundays ✨️
