And that’s a wrap! We ended our trip to Ireland yesterday with a visit to the charming town of Kilkenny - with it’s own castle - and then enjoyed an evening of Irish music and dance, which was the perfect finale to a wonderful and memorable trip! We are now headed home - tired, happy, and with memories for a lifetime. ☘️🇮🇪💚

Yesterday’s journey took us to Blarney (home of Blarney Castle and the famous Blarney Stone) and then on to the historic city of Waterford (home of *the* Waterford crystal). Today we return to Dublin - and it’s our last full day. 😭 It’s hard to believe we fly home on Tuesday this week has just flown by! ☘️🇮🇪💚

Our journey through Ireland yesterday took us from Ennis to the little town of Adare, along the “Ring of Kerry”, and finally to Killarney. Thatched-roof houses, country churches, a cow traffic jam (blocking the road), and a “jaunty car” ride through the Killarney National Park to see yet *another* castle - these were a few of our favorite things for the day! Today we head to Blarney Castle and then Waterford! More to come tomorrow! ☘️🇮🇪💚

Last night took us to the Guinness Storehouse, located where the brewery is - right in the heart of Dublin! It was fascinating to learn the stages of making their famous beer - and even included a sample tasting!
Today we leave Dublin and head west to Galway and the Cliffs of Moher. 💚🇮🇪☘️

Happy Halloween! 🎃 This morning’s excursion took us on a tour of the city of Dublin, learning some of the city’s history - and some fun facts too! We had the chance to explore Christ Church, built in 1030 and St. Patrick’s Cathedral, a relative newcomer having in built in 1191. So far, nothing but treats today! 🍭We shall see if there are any tricks when we tour the Guinness factory this evening! 👻 ☘️🇮🇪💚

This morning’s exploration took us to the beautiful Wicklow Mountains and Glendalough with its monastic ruins that date back to the 6th century. The cemetery was fascinating- some of the tombstones were so old that the writing was completely gone! The oldest one I found was from 1760. Glendalough was stunning and a beautiful day trip from Dublin. Returning to the city, we had a very touristy lunch at the Temple Bar ( ✅). Tonight we meet our Globus tour director and fellow travelers to officially begin our Globus tour of Ireland. ☘️🇮🇪💚

Our Day 1 started with a 5 a.m. arrival to Dublin! After getting to our hotel and getting settled a bit, we then enjoyed a fantastic food tour with Trails! Delicious food and drink, learning about some great history and sites, and making Irish coffee all made for a great way to begin our visit to Ireland! Stay tuned for more adventures tomorrow! ☘️🇮🇪💚
