Join Us for the First Birdwatching Train-the-Trainer Course in Malaysia!
The Penampang Tourism Association, in collaboration with the Sabah Birdwatchers Association, is excited to announce the launch of a pioneering Birdwatching Course - Train the Trainer. This unique initiative, part of our community-based tourism efforts, aims to empower locals to become proficient birdwatching trainers.
Course Details:
- Dates: December 10th - 11th, 2024
- Venue: MBA Room, University Malaysia Sabah
- Commitment Fee: FOC {perlu update yuran keahlian} for PTA members | RM75 for non-members
What to Expect:
Participants will receive comprehensive training led by experienced SBWA trainers, covering:
- 5 Classroom Modules
- 2 Field Trips to active bird hides and prime birding destinations
Training will be conducted in English and includes:
- Classroom venue
- Coffee/tea breaks
- Lunch
- Transportation for field trips
- Participation Certificates
Who Can Join:
We have 30 spots available for communities within the Penampang district. To qualify, participants should:
- Be proficient in English or Malay.
- Have a genuine interest in promoting birdwatching activities.
Benefits of Participation:
Those who complete the Train-the-Trainer Course will gain the skills necessary to conduct birdwatching sessions in their villages with support from the SBWA and PTA. This initiative not only enhances local skills but also aims to identify and develop the most promising villages into top birding destinations in Sabah through further training of bird spotters.
