"My name’s Nuno and I’m from Porto, so this is my favorite city in the whole world!!! 🌍
Well, this could be excessive and arrogant to say right...?! 😅 Now seriously, the Azores, Douro Valley, and the Alentejo region are my preferred locations in Portugal.
Despite being so different from each other, they express the best that the Portuguese people have to show and still retain some of the purity of days gone by as well as a character of authenticity, genuineness, and untouchability that captivates and seduces me. 💫❤️Being at Splendid Portugal for more than seven years is very comforting. Since I joined it, I've seen the company evolve, and I can see that we're on the right track. That’s for sure! 🚀 The differences from those times and today are huge, and we can only hope that the future will continue to bring us new challenges, new discoveries, and, above all, the same team spirit that is felt every day at this office! 💼🤝As for the most challenging trip, it was undoubtedly undertaken by a solo traveler who was on a tight budget, and as she was losing her sight, it was probably the last trip she ever took. 😢 The trip was fully planned and prepared for public transport. Given that the coordination of public transport in Portugal is extremely difficult, I naturally had to get out of my comfort zone and overcome the difficulties that the limitations of the guest and the vicissitudes of a trip like this can mean. 💪🚌🌍"

My favorite place in Portugal... oh my, such a difficult question... But I would say the Douro Valley. The impressive and enchanted valleys, the unique wines, the world-famous Port Wine, the local gastronomy... This fantastic region offers everything: rich culture and tradition, gastronomy and wines, as you can see I'm a big fan of Portuguese wines 🍇🍷 Also, I know I can be suspicious, but one of my favorite dishes is cod and yes, there are more than 1000 ways to cook it! Nothing more traditional, really 😋🧐

Meet Diogo, one of our operations & product manager! 🌍👋

I'm a passionate musician and I play guitar for almost 14 years now. I've been part of bands and occasionally I drop some covers!! 🎸 My mother and I are the owners of 15 cats, I know it's a lot!!! 😼😻
My favorite thing about Portugal are the beaches, both in the north and south, probably Praia das Caxinas to relax and Praia da Galé for a nice day on the beach with the family. 🏖 The beach is my go-to spot, at any time of the year. I'm a surfer also, so I'm used to surfing on winter waters whenever the conduits allow for it. 🏄🏽
I can say that I'm a nature lover, as well and that's one of the things that Portugal has to offer. The Peneda Gerês National Park or Serra da Estrela Natural Park are two of my favorite spots to contemplate nature at its pure state! 🏞
I also love our diverse gastronomy, I would say that my favorite dish is the famous "Francesinha" and definitely a hot bowl of "Caldo Verde", a typical soup and one of Portuguese seven wonders of gastronomy!🥪🥣
I really love my job and the opportunity that it gives me to share and be more involved with the best that Portugal has to offer! ❤💚

Why is Portugal so special? We have a bit of everything here, from history, culture and gastronomy to the humblest smile of any local😊, all accompanied by the “welcoming” spirit that we Portuguese have so deeply rooted in our being.
In my role, the most challenging trip I can remember was undoubtedly that of a couple who traveled to the Azores🏝 in search of all kinds of adventure activities. From climbing to canyoning, diving to coasteering, they gave the go-ahead to absolutely everything!🙃
The biggest challenge was to ensure that, in a short space of time, they could match their desire to do countless radical activities with the opportunity to get to know all the cultural, historical and the natural treasures of the Azores.💪"

Last week our team went on a retreat to the breathtaking Azores - São Miguel 🌿🛤✨ From going on an expedition to watch dolphins and whales, to ride a bike into the Lagoa das Sete Cidades, to a food tour around the town and even a Jeep tour in the Lagoa do Fogo, but the highlight was a visit to a farm guided by the owner.
