Here I'm refining the subtle balance skills for a manual, while fellow instructor and all around badass Joanna Yates gets practice with the static hold (not affiliated with Bike Paradise, but maybe she should be?🤔🙂).

Saguaro Cactus fun facts!🌵

Did you know this saguaro cactus is probably 150 years old or beyond?

It can take up to 10 years for them to reach just 1 inch in height when first starting out.

They only grow in the Sonoran Desert, due to the perfect combination of water and temperature.

Their accordion like texture allows them to expand and contract depending on water content.

At full capacity, a foot long section can weigh 90 lbs.

We get to see hundreds of these majestic giants on our rides. They are truly wondrous, and are an integral part of the life cycle of the desert.

Yes! October is here. That means cooler temps, fun Halloween stuff to do with the kids, and the excuse to pull out all the creepy decorations. 👹🎃

We think the food should be as good as the riding. And let's be honest, who doesn't love stuffing their face after a good ride? 🤪

Here's a sampling of some of the meals and post ride snacks that are waiting for you when you return from the day's ride:

-Fresh garden salads with homemade dressings
-various charcuterie boards
-breakfast casserole with fresh fruit
-baked oatmeal with cinnamon apples
-pecan crusted chicken with quinoa salad
-a mid-ride snack
-and last but not least, the infamous sourdough pancakes with applewood smoked bacon

This doesn't include a few dinners from local restaurants, and the trail fuel we provide. We also have beer and wine, should you choose to indulge.

Unique diet requirements? We have you covered there too (example: gluten-free sourdough pancakes anyone?). Bottom line, you won't go hungry!

Couldn't agree more...well said!

When you're healthy, you tend to be happier, which in turn rubs off on others. This is a cycle that has no downsides, and only upsides.

Get out and ride your bike, or whatever it is you're into, and smile at a stranger. You might just brighten their day. :)

There’s no getting around it, mountain biking is an expensive sport. I firmly believe it’s money well spent though.

I’m a huge believer in spending money on experiences and things that make you happy. Mountain biking comes firmly into that camp. It improves every aspect of your life.

Now, do I think you should get into debt (or stop yourself getting out of debt) by buying the latest and greatest mountain biking kit, absolutely not, it always has to be a balance.

Within your means though I firmly believe spending money on your bike, on your riding gear and on riding holidays. Anything that changes your life for the better is a good investment in my eyes 👌

What was your first bike...and what is your current bike?

I'll start. I started my journey into the wonderful world of mountain biking on a 1987 or 1988 (I'm guessing) Univega Alpina Uno. Boy, did I have some adventures on that bike!

My current steed is a 2015 Niner RIP RDO. Okay, so it's 6 years old, doesn't have the latest and greatest standards and improvements, but it's still an awesome bike - I love it!

How about you? Pictures are a bonus, but not needed.
